Josh Duggar’s Prison Release Date Updated, When Is It?
Former 19 Kids & Counting star Josh Duggar’s prison release date has officially been updated. When will Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s eldest son be released from prison? Keep reading to get all of the details about the next decade of his life.
Josh is currently in prison after being convicted of child pornography crimes. Last month, the father of seven was transferred from the Washington County Jail in Arkansas to the Federal Correctional Institution in Seagoville, Texas. He’s reportedly spent most of his time alone so far.
According to a leaked prison tape, Josh’s fellow inmates were not impressed by the news that he was heading to FCI Seagoville. Based on these details, fans believe he may not have the easiest time in prison.
Now that Josh Duggar has been transferred to a federal facility, the former TLC star’s release date has been updated online. So, when will he be out of prison?
Josh Duggar’s Prison Release Date Updated
Below, you can see Josh Duggar’s prison release date and details from the Bureau of Prisons. According to the BOP, Josh will be released on August 22, 2032. This is 85% of his sentence, which is the minimum he can serve in federal prison.
On December 9, 2021, Josh was sentenced to 151 months (around 12-and-a-half years) behind bars. 151 months from that date is July 9, 2034. So, if he ends up serving the full sentence, he will be released roughly two years after the original date noted on the BOP‘s website.
If Josh is released on August 22, 2032, he will be 44 years old. His youngest child, Madyson Lily Duggar, will be almost 11 years old. Fans have shown concern for Josh’s kids and their safety after his release, but he will be on probation for 20 years following his sentence.
Is He Eligible For Early Release?
Josh Duggar isn’t eligible for release any earlier than August 22, 2032. Parole is not an option in federal prison, according to Pew Trusts, so it looks like there is no way for him to be released earlier than August 22, 2032.
In federal prisons, inmates must serve at least 85% of their sentence. So, the August 22, 2032 date listed in the BOP records appears to be Josh Duggar’s earliest possible release date. Bad behavior can add additional time to his sentence, though, so he could end up serving the full 151 months.
