‘Seeking Sister Wife’: The Winder Family Shares Their Legacy
When Season 4 of Seeking Sister Wife was announced, fans were bummed that one family was not on the roster. The Winders had been let go from the series and that did not sit well for many. They were the one genuine polygamist family. However, they understood that the show was going in a different direction. Now they are sharing the legacy that they hope to leave behind.
Seeking Sister Wife Introduces The Winder Family
Initially, the Winders were not big hits with viewers. They found husband, Colton to be rather dry and boring. He was married to Tami and together, they had a toddler named Sadie. Their second wife was named Sophie and she actually did not live under the same roof as them. She had her own house that Colton would come and visit. The goal of the family was to finally step out as a plural family and start to feel comfortable in their town and surroundings. They were also actively seeking a third wife but did not have much luck. By Season 3, they had all moved in together, Sophie was expecting a son, and fans found them delightful.
The family had also started courting a woman named Kimberley from North Carolina. They really enjoyed her and felt she would make a great addition. Though they wanted her to come to visit them prior to the baby being born, the pandemic halted that. Luckily, she was able to come and bonded quite well with the wives. However, Colton did not feel a spark and that was fine because the focus was really on growing the family internally. Tami struggled with fertility so she was on a new journey to make a baby happen. When the show ended, Sophie revealed she was actually pregnant with her second baby, a girl. It appeared that they were making an announcement that they would not be returning for another season but it was retracted. Then the cast was announced and they were not on it.
The Legacy
When Season 4 was picked up and the cast was released, the Winders shared that they understood why they were not picked up. The show was clearly going in a different direction. Fans were saddened to see the go as they were extremely genuine. Yet they revealed that they had big things coming and this included a fun podcast. Now, the family has shared the legacy they want to leave in regard to the series twenty-four hours after the new season premiered.
They hope their legacy from the show is that: “plural marriage lived with a higher intent can be a beautiful relationship, full of love, growth, and progression for both men and women.” This lifestyle is sacred to them and is not something that is “criminal.” That is why they chose to participate in the first place. They further understand that there are many who did not care for the life that they are living. Finally, they know if it appealed to all, they would not be living their truth. What a truly happy family.
