Tammy Slaton’s Dr. Eric Smith Steps Out With Gorgeous Gal
1000-Lb. Sisters fans love hearing about Tammy Slaton and Amy Halterman. However, some really wonder what goes on in the personal lives of their healthcare team. Dr. Eric Smith treated both Tammy and her brother Chris Combs and performed their bariatric surgeries.
But what is Dr. Smith up to when the cameras aren’t rolling? According to Instagram, he really enjoys spending time with his fiancee, Anna.
According to Instagram, the pair got engaged in August 2020. It seems like they’re still settling on some wedding plans, but also find plenty to do in the meantime.
Dr. Eric Smith is a great doctor but has an entire life outside of his practice
1000-Lb. Sisters fans definitely have a soft spot for Dr. Eric Smith. Few surgeons make house calls, but Dr. Smith opted to visit Tammy during Season 3 when she hit rock bottom. He encouraged her to take charge of her life and by the end of the season, she felt ready to go back to rehab.
According to Dr. Smith’s professional Instagram page, he performs the most robotic bariatric surgeries in the state of Kentucky. He might be a great surgeon, but he does indeed have a personal life.
Right now, it appears that he’s enjoying the Kentucky Derby festivities with his fiancee.
“And it begins…today the Oaks! Tomorrow the Derby! 🏇” Dr. Smith captioned an Instagram post. He uploaded a few photos of the couple enjoying their time together at the event. Anna wore a lovely white and yellow patterned dress along with an elaborate hat — one hallmark of the Kentucky Derby.
In the comments, followers showered the happy couple with compliments — particularly on Anna’s outfit. Fans really loved her vibrant spring ensemble.
An inside look at the surgeon’s relationship
It’s not immediately clear how long Dr. Smith and Anna have been a couple. But he started showing up in her Instagram photos in late 2019. Anna did share photos of the proposal in 2020, but no wedding photos yet. This leads many followers to believe that the couple is still engaged and not yet married.
TLC viewers have seen so much of Tammy and Amy’s extended family on the show — maybe it’s time that Dr. Smith shared more of his own personal life on the show. If TLC renews 1000-Lb. Sisters for another season, it’s entirely possible we will see more of Dr. Smith and his family.
But for now, fans are waiting patiently for news from TLC about the future of the show.
