Jenna Johnson Asks That Brother-In-Law Maks Chmerkovskiy Stays Safe
Maks Chmerkovskiy keeps updating fans as the crisis in Ukraine continues. Right now, he is in the country and is unable to return home. Now, all fans can do is watch and pray as they wait for more news. Maks’ family members also periodically offer updates. Most recently, his brother Val Chmerkovskiy and his wife Jenna Johnson have spoken about the situation.
Jenna Johnson just wants her brother-in-law to make a safe return home
In recent days, Val described how his parents took him and Maks to the United States to prevent them from seeing war. He even admitted that he would be on the frontlines in the Ukraine conflict if they had stayed.
Recently, Jenna Johnson also offered her own thoughts on the violence and echoed Maks’ wife Peta’s call for prayers. Although Jenna grew up in Utah, she married Val in 2019 and became part of the family.
“Please pray for my brother-in-law who is stuck in Ukraine,” Jenna shared in an Instagram story this week. “The whole situation is devastating and truly heartbreaking for the country. This is real and this is very scary.”
She went on to share Peta’s calls for prayers in her story as well.
“The last 24 hours have been an absolute nightmare,” the 27-year-old dancer posted on Friday. “It’s actually unfathomable that this is happening in real time. Heartbroken for my husband’s homeland. More than anything, we just want Maks home 🙏 . Please keep praying for the citizens and families in Ukraine.”
Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are the parents of a 5-year-old son, Shai. Without a doubt, this is an extremely difficult time for the entire family.
Maks Chmerkovskiy puts Kirstie Alley on blast over her insensitive Ukraine comments
Jenna Johnson and Peta Murgatroyd made it clear they welcome prayers for Maks’ safe return. However, Maks has no patience at all for nonsense right now. He recently put 71-year-old actress Kirstie Alley on blast for her comments on the violence in Ukraine.
According to PEOPLE, Kirstie Alley posted a now-deleted Tweet that read, “I don’t know what’s real or what is fake in this war. So I won’t be commenting. I’ll pray instead.”
However, Maks took screenshots before she deleted it. He added it to his Instagram story and posted his own caption over the Tweet.
“Dear Kirstie, we haven’t spoken in a while, but I clearly remember being right next to you while you were organizing trucks of aid during Hurricane Sandy and I remember all that you were saying to me about situations where innocent are suffering,” he chastised the 71-year-old actress. “That same energy is needed right now. No one needs your prayer if you don’t know what’s real or fake,” he added.
