’My 600-Lb Life’: Dr Now Celebrates Big Milestone, Thanks Fans
Dr Now is the primary reason that many fans enjoy My 600-Lb Life. The Iranian-American doctor takes a no-nonsense approach with his patients and has helped many people achieve their weight loss goals.
He recently shared an exciting milestone with fans. What was it?
Dr Now has some happy news to share with fans
Even though Dr Now is 77-years-old, he keeps up with fans on social media. My 600-Lb Life fans routinely check in to see what he’s up to.
That’s why it was very exciting when Dr Now shared his most recent news with fans — he reached 500,000 followers on his Instagram page.

Is the TLC star still performing surgery?
As Dr Now gets up there in years, many fans are still wondering whether or not he still practices surgery. In a nutshell, the answer is yes! Dr Now is still actively practicing surgery and even performs procedures that aren’t captured on the show. If you frequently tune into My 600-Lb Life, you can see him in action when a patient achieves their weight loss goals
As we previously reported, Dr Now seems to still be in great health and doesn’t seem to show signs of slowing down anytime soon. This is happy news for fans. As we noted above, many viewers tune in to hear what the doctor has to say.
People love Dr Now, but unfortunately, a recent Reddit poll that a lot of My 600-Lb Life fans revealed fans are mostly just interested in the drama. It seems like TLC knows this and this is why they keep creating spectacles on the show. Many My 600-Lb Life participants actually sued the show for emotional distress, including Gina Marie Krasley who passed away last summer.
Krasley and other former participants allege that the show forces them to eat absurd amounts of food in order to fit the show’s narrative.

I watch the show because I love to see people gain their life back, not the made up drama. There is more than enough drama just trying to change your life and get back your health. The particapents have enough stress on their lives just trying to change their lives for the better.I hope they stop with made up stuff and let the people just tell their story.
