‘Love Is Blind’ Cut One Couple From Season 2 — Who Are They?
Love Is Blind Season 2 fans are loving all the drama unfolding between the contestants. In case you hadn’t heard, the next four episodes of Season 2 are now on Netflix.
But did you know that one couple got engaged on the show but wasn’t featured? Keep reading to find out more about them and why they didn’t make the final cut.
Love Is Blind opted not to follow the love story of an additional couple
The entire point of Love Is Blind is to fall in love with someone without ever seeing them. Couples are allowed to see each other face to face after they get engaged.
Season two follows six couples who got engaged during the show as they date and navigate life together up until the wedding day. The wedding episode will premiere next Friday and we will learn who says “I do” and who says “I don’t.”
However, fans might be interested to know that there is actually a seventh couple that got engaged in the pods but aren’t featured on the show. Who are they?
Cosmopolitan reports that an Instagram post reveals that Caitlin McKee and Joey Miller also fell in love in the pods. If you’ve been keeping up with the season so far, you probably saw Joey and Caitlin here and there.
“What a whirlwind the last few days have been since @loveisblindnetflix season 2 has premiered! Watching the couples meet in the pods, fall in love and experience their first reveal transported me right back to that place,” Caitlin wrote, alongside a sweet photo of her and Joey.
“What you didn’t see is that I also found love in the pods and left the show with a fiancé. @millerj5001 and I had an amazing summer and fall with the opportunity to travel, meet each other’s families, and build a genuine relationship without the cameras and crew. Although we ultimately chose to go our separate ways recently, we are choosing to remain friends and he will always hold a special place in my heart.”
Caitlin goes on to say that she’s thankful for the experience to appear on Love Is Blind and made genuine friendships that will last a lifetime.
The Netflix show also cut couples in Season 1
Fans are probably surprised to hear about Caitlin and Joey. But they might be more surprised to learn that Love Is Blind also did this in Season 1. Westley Baer and Lexie Skipper and Rory Newbrough and Danielle Drouin also got engaged in the pods, but we barely saw them.
“As we were preparing to go to the Mexico trip, the leads of the show came in and said, ‘Hey, we were expecting maybe one or two [engagements]. The shows we’ve done before, we’ve never had this much success. We prepared for five. Then we got eight engagements, so we had to pick who we were going to follow,’” Rory told PEOPLE. “We got our phones back. They thanked us graciously and said, ‘Sorry, we just don’t have enough to cover everybody.’”
It’s entirely possible that this is also what happened with Caitlin and Joey in Season 2. However, we might not find out yet until the creators say anything.
