Wendy Williams’ Brother Thinks Show Is NOTHING Without Her?
Wendy Williams’ brother shared his thoughts on her daytime talk show. She has been on hiatus since the show’s Season 13 premiere in September 2021. Celebrities have been filling in her spot. Leah Remini and Sherri Shepherd have been hot contenders.
Tommy Williams doesn’t see it that way. He thinks the show is nothing without her. Tommy called the show “garbage” as fans wait for her highly anticipated return. He took to a private Wendy Williams Facebook group to sound off in a five-minute video. The 54-year-old did not hold back on his thoughts about the show and its guest hosts.
Tommy Williams says The Wendy Williams Show is “garbage”
Members of the group wanted to know what he thinks about the current season of the show. Wendy has currently been on a hiatus as she recovers from her ongoing health struggles. Tommy denied the show that’s running in its current format. He sees it as a whole different show.
“I think the show is garbage without her — to say the least,” Tommy Williams said, per The Sun. “Trying to be as respectful as possible. It’s no dig at the people who are there, they’re just not Wendy and I’ve grown accustomed to seeing Wendy operate that show and handle it in such a way that was just patented by her.”
The 57-year-old host has been absent from her purple chair. Tommy feels that no one could replace his sister. While he calls the guest hosts “talented,” he doesn’t think they could fill her shoes. However, Tommy agrees that the show needs some new direction.
“There is no other. I mean there are plenty of people that are talented, let them go out there and call the show their name and put a show in their name…” he continued. “You know, and let that, let that go. But I think Wendy’s show definitely needs a rerouting, and they need to figure something else out.”
For the past four months, the show rotated celebrity guests filling in for the ailing host. Fans have watched Leah Remini, Michael Rappaport, and Sherri Shepherd take over her spot. Despite Tommy’s opinions, the show has seen an uptick in ratings. More fans have been tuning in than ever.
Wendy Williams is planning her comeback
A source close to the former radio personality says that she’s “feeling better” and plans on making a “big comeback” to her show. Wendy has no intentions of having anyone replace her. Like her brother, she feels that only she can handle the show. Wendy is itching to get her purple chair back.
“If anybody thinks Wendy is done with television and show business in general, they’re sadly mistaken,” an insider told Hollywood Life on December 16, 2021. “Wendy has been in this industry almost her entire life and she’s definitely preparing to make a comeback.”
The source shared that she’s been “feeling better every day” and “has every intention on coming back to her show.” Wendy also wants to work on “some other projects.” The talk show host never intended to step back from the show. So far, the talk show returned in 2022 without her.
Wendy is continuing her battles with Graves’ disease. It’s unclear when she will return. She was also spotted with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., on social media. Prior to that, she left a wellness center in Miami and said that she’s “doing fabulous” and teased that “more Wendy stuff” is on the way.
