‘Yellowstone’: Jefferson White Shares What Direction He Wants For Jimmy
Yellowstone’s cowboy-in-training, Jimmy Hurdstram, always seems to be in the midst of the crazy of the West. This is a guy that unwittingly always finds himself in situations. That includes working at the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas.
So, it may not be of any surprise that the actor who portrays him has a direction he wants his character to go.
Yellowstone Star Shares Where Jimmy Is Now
Yellowstone’s Jimmy Hurdstram, portrayed by Jefferson Washington, is not a man who has control of his mind and his own destiny. He has allowed others to get him out of trouble, and make major life decisions for him.
He wound up working for John Dutton because his grandfather asked John to take him in. Don’t forget, Rip Wheeler took care of some family business when Jimmy proved incapable of doing it right.
When Cinema Blend recently spoke to Washington, they asked him if he knew if Jimmy knew where he was headed. Washington indicated that Jimmy is a rudderless ship.
You know, I think Jimmy’s asking the same question. He doesn’t really know where he’s headed. He doesn’t know what his future is. He’s just trying to take it one day at a time. That’s pretty much how I feel, and I think that’s how Jimmy feels. His whole life has been being buffered around by these forces bigger than him, you know? He got pulled on to the Yellowstone and was trying to keep up there, he got banished from the Yellowstone to the 6666 and was trying desperately to keep up there. So I think he’s still getting pushed around by forces much larger than himself, and just sort of trying to hold on.
Jefferson White’s Hope For Jimmy
There is no doubt that Yellowstone star Jefferson White has a wish for Jimmy. He wants his character to be a man and set out on his destiny. White even laughed when he revealed his hope for Jimmy.
I guess I hope that one day, Jimmy gets some sense of agency, that he gets some sense of getting to make his own decisions. I think that would represent growing up for him. But I don’t know if that day is coming anytime soon.
White Shares What He Thinks Will Happen To Jimmy On Yellowstone
Jefferson White has been in Yellowstone since the beginning. He has watched the twists and turns in the series, so he should know what creator Taylor Sheridan will do next, right?
Not exactly. Even though he has been living in this world for four seasons, his imagination cannot come up with what could be next.
The actor revealed, “Anytime I’ve tried to guess what’s gonna happen, Taylor Sheridan writes something much better than I ever would have guessed. So I’ve gotten out of the guessing business.”
No need to guess too much longer. The final episode of Yellowstone Season 4 is on Sunday, January 2, at 8 p.m. Eastern, on Paramount.
