Did You Know Four ‘DWTS’ Pro Dancers Are Actually Childhood Friends?
It’s not at all uncommon to see the DWTS pro dancers getting along well with one another in real life. Gleb Savchenko and Keo Motsepe get along notoriously well. Many pro dancers are actually married to one another too.
But there are four castmates who actually grew up together and are childhood friends. Who are they?
DWTS pro dancers share a special bond, but a few are closer than others
Screenrant recently dove into the world of the four friends who grew up to become DWTS pro dancers. Have you guessed who they are yet? Here’s a clue: they all hail from Utah.
Pro dancer Jenna Johnson recently sat down with Olivia Jade on her podcast, Conversations with Olivia Jade.
“In Utah, there, for some reason, is this massive dance hub,” the 27-year-old told Olivia Jade. This isn’t exactly a secret. Derek and Julianne Hough also come from the state. She went on to say there are big dance studios that train young people to be professionals someday. And that’s where Jenna met the rest of her childhood crew.
“So I actually grew up dancing with Lindsay and Witney and Brandon. We’re all the same age, and they were my best friends growing up.”
Jenna was actually a bridesmaid in both Lindsay’s and Witney’s wedding. Although it’s clear all the girls from Dancing With The Stars are incredibly close.
On and off the stage, the friendships and strong bonds continue to shine through!
All four friends have a very extensive dancer history and even made appearances on other shows
Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson both competed on So You Think You Can Dance Season 9 while Jenna Johnson competed in Season 10. All three women performed remarkably well and went pretty far, but didn’t win their seasons.
In the women’s division, Witney finished in third while Lindsay took fourth. In her season, Jenna took fourth place. Brandon Armstrong never officially competed in a season of So You Think You Can Dance, but he did appear on the show.

The judges invited him back to audition in the next season, but he turned down the offer. Like the girls, Brandon is a member of the LDS church and chose to serve a mission instead of trying out for So You Think You Can Dance. He recently posted a fun Instagram photo honoring his friendship with Lindsay Arnold.
“I promised i would keep posting so here we go,” Brandon wrote. “Few things about this…first of all I’ve been dancing with this girl for 17 years or so and to be honest don’t know how I’ve dealt with her this long…🙄 and to finish….stay in school kids…or else you may end up with a mustache like this!👴🏽”
But now, all four friends happily compete on Dancing With The Stars as pro dancers. Brandon Armstrong is the only member of the group to go on the tour this winter. Lindsay and Witney both have small children at home and Jenna has a lot on her plate too.
