JoJo Siwa Describes Her Forever Friendship With Jenna Johnson
It’s not uncommon for Dancing With The Stars pros to really bond with their celebrity partners. But according to JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson, they now have a forever friendship. The women were the first same-sex pair to compete on the show and make history. Ultimately, they came in second place at the end of the season. But they feel like their friendship is the biggest prize of all.
JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson came away with much more than a spot in the finale
When DWTS Season 30 began, most people felt sure that JoJo and Jenna would win the entire season. They did score well and even pulled off the first perfect score of the season. If the show went by points alone, the women would have won. But America votes for the winner and that’s how Daniella Karagach and Iman Shumpert came out on top.
But even so, JoJo Siwa is fine with second place. Her friendship with Jenna Johnson means more than any trophy.
“I will take second every single day if that means that I got to make it to the finale. If it means I got to make the friend that I did in Jenna,” JoJo said to ET. “It if means that I got to have the experiences and life changes that I’ve had in the last 10 weeks.”
Jenna went on to add that if they lost to anyone, they were happy to lose to Daniella and Iman.
“Iman, for some reason, has been like our big brother in this whole competition, so if there was anyone who we wanted to win, it was Iman and Daniella,” she added happily.
Through the season, both Jenna and JoJo said that they felt more like sisters than competition partners. When JoJo’s family visited the rehearsal room, they happily accepted Jenna as one of their own.
Many DWTS couples are close, but it really seems like these two women will be friends for life.
The women have their eyes on the future now
We won’t know much about Dancing With The Stars Season 31 for quite some time, but it seems hard to picture Jenna Johnson with anyone else at this point. Jenna’s husband Val Chmerkovskiy might be retiring, but she confirmed she wanted to come back in the fall if DWTS would have her.
“I will for sure be back here. It will be different [without him], but I think it would be also awesome,” the 27-year-old dancer told ET. “I love being able to do different projects from each other that we can support and help each other thrive on. So I know he would be really invested in my season, just like he is now. But I’m not done dancing with my hubby on that floor yet. Not done yet.”
Meanwhile, JoJo Siwa has no shortage of activities to keep her busy. Keep checking back with us for the latest DWTS news and updates with JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson! We’ll be happy to fill you in.
