How Did Olivia Jade Giannulli’s Parents React To Her ‘DWTS’ Elimination?
It’s every parent’s dream to watch their child succeed. Olivia Jade Giannulli’s Dancing With The Stars journey may be over, but her parents are thrilled with the progress their daughter made during her time on the show.
No one really wanted the 22-year-old influencer and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy to go home. Unfortunately, it was a double elimination night and someone had to leave. At the end of Janet Jackson Night, the pair said goodbye to the competition and exited gracefully.
But what exactly did Olivia Jade’s parents have to say?
Olivia Jade worked hard and brought a lot of joy to her family
It’s been a rough few years for Olivia Jade and her family, but this was definitely a highlight. After her parents’ shameful role in the infamous college admissions scandal, the YouTuber really wanted to use her time on DWTS to prove that she could work hard and deserved a second chance in the public’s eyes. Most fans agree that she accomplished that.
“They are so proud of me for doing this show and they both were just like, ‘Hey, you did it. You tried your best. We’re proud of you for putting yourself out there and we love you,’” she told Us Weekly. “So they’re great. They’re obviously very supportive and I think that they’re just like, ‘OK, she’s probably going to be very sad. So, I’m going to text her some really nice stuff right now.’”
Fans definitely understand Olivia Jade and Val’s disappointment. It never feels good to leave DWTS, especially when you’ve come so far. Val’s wife Jenna Johnson is still in the competition and commented on the elimination.
“They’re good. I think, obviously, really disappointed. I think we’re both disappointed for them,” Jenna told the press. “I was under the assumption — for me and my brain, it was so clear that they would be going to the finals. I think they deserved it. I’m really confused, [but] that’s the nature of the show, unfortunately.”

Val Chmerkovskiy may seriously retire from DWTS after this emotionally-charged season
When DWTS began, Val Chmerkovskiy admitted he didn’t really want Olivia Jade as a partner. He heard the rumors about her family and the college admissions scandal and wasn’t sure she would be a hard worker. But she really proved him wrong.
“Honestly, it happens really quickly. It happens in the first five minutes,” the Ukrainian native told ET about the first time he met Olivia Jade. “You know, you get a sense of ‘OK, her tone has, you know, has gratitude in it.’ It has tact and courtesy and grace and, you know, you’re just like, all right this is, first of all, an educated young woman — a very well-spoken young woman. And then, you know, a very kind and gracious young woman and that’s it. After that I was like, all right, I’m gonna do the rest, you know? Hopefully she can dance too, and she can.”
In more recent interviews, he added that DWTS Season 30 will likely be his last. He just doesn’t see how he could get a more satisfying partner than Olivia Jade.

Yes, I hoped that Val and Olivia would be in the finals and that it would be between Iman or Olivia to win the mirrorball.
After the show changes I had not watched DWTS until this season. I voted like crazy for Val and Olivia hoping for Val to win
Very sad and disappointed, they should have made the Semi-Finals being a celeb with no musically or dance move experience 🙁
Now Hoping for Iman to win the Semi-Finals to get in the Finals
