Derek Hough Shuts Down Rumor About Brian Austin Green’s Elimination
Every year, there are always rumors that come out of Dancing With The Stars. After Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess left the competition last week, many fans felt that the judges were biased against the two. However, Derek Hough is here to shut those rumors down.
Each week, judges seemed to pick at Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess’s performance for the chemistry. The couple are dating in real life, so the judges seemed to think that the two just had too much PDA on the dance floor.
Things definitely got heated during the first night of Disney Week when Len Goodman just had enough.
“Forget ‘Someday My Prince Will Come,’ I never thought the waltz was going to come! There was so much kissing and cuddling and messing about then you did a little bit of waltz,” the head judge critiqued the pair after their performance.
Brian Austin Green and Sharna Burgess went home the following night.
Derek Hough doesn’t believe the couple went home due to PDA
However, Derek Hough denies that they went home because of the judges’ biases. In fact, he claims that he personally wasn’t focused on their personal relationship at all. He commented on the elimination in an interview with Buzz.
“I wouldn’t recall feeling critical of the relationship aspect, but I think there was just too much focus on it perhaps,” Derek told Buzz.
He went on to say that he felt that Brian was just relying too heavily on Sharna for guidance.
“I’m watching him. … I’m watching how he’s improving, how he’s getting better, or if he isn’t or if he’s plateauing or whatever it might be, and them being a couple becomes irrelevant for me after week one.”

Many fans felt that the judges were too rough on Brian and Sharna
Not all Dancing With The Stars fans agreed with the criticism that Derek Hough and the other judges dished out. In fact, many felt that they could be way too harsh.
After the final Disney Night, Sharna And Brian were noticeably absent from press interviews. Many fans wondered if the pair stormed out after such a shocking elimination.
However, the couple addressed the rumors on Instagram and said there wasn’t any truth to that.
“I just wanted to clean something up real quick because I think this is said in a couple of press releases, we didn’t leave before press started, we did wait a good 30 minutes on the Zoom link greenroom waiting for everyone to do press,” Sharna cleared up for fans. “But nothing came through to us, apparently there was a big mix-up with the Zoom links last night. And then we had to go to the people that were getting us out of our wigs and [makeup]. … There were people waiting for us to do that.”
“So we weren’t, like, salty and wanting to f—king storm out of there,” Brian added.
“No one is salty,” Sharna continued. “Everyone in the competition is absolutely amazing and we are deeply grateful for our time on it.”
