‘DWTS’ Judges Sour On Sharna Burgess And Brian Austin Green’s Romance
Many Dancing With The Stars fans felt excited when they heard Sharna Burgess would compete with her real-life boyfriend in Season 30. She and Brian Austin Green began dating toward the end of 2020 and overall make a really cute couple. But now that we’re four weeks into the season, plenty of viewers are a little over the PDA on the dance floor — and that includes the judges.
The judges had a few choice words for Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green
The couple’s Snow White-themed waltz on Disney Night didn’t quite land well with the judges, especially head judge Len Goodman.
“Forget ‘Someday My Prince Will Come,’ I never thought the waltz was going to come! There was so much kissing and cuddling and messing about then you did a little bit of waltz,” the 77-year-old criticized the couple after their performance.
Len is known for being the harsh one, but his fellow judges echoed the sentiment — though in nicer words.
“Listen, I get all the sweetness and niceness, but sometimes too much sweetness gives you a toothache,” Bruno Tonioli added. “You need more traction, more action, more involvement. Give it light and shade.”
Derek Hough and Carrie Ann Inaba didn’t seem to mind the PDA as much, but still gave Brian and Sharna much lower scores than their competitors. The pair scored a total of 25/40 points last night — the lowest score of the evening.

The couple defends their relationship on social media
Even though the DWTS judges were pretty harsh with Brian and Sharna last night, this isn’t the first time they’ve heard the criticism. Judges warned the two in the past their PDA is kind of distracting.
On social media, many fans accused the pair of having a “showmance” and faking their relationship for the cameras. Sharna didn’t react well to this and even addressed the situation on social media.
“For those that say we kiss too much, here’s a full 🍑 grab instead 😂,” she wrote on Instagram.
“But for real though, we kissed once in the first show that’s it. This isn’t a showmance, this is real life love and it’s a part of our journey. Every step. Every struggle. Every success. And anyone that thinks it’s an advantage I can assure you, it’s not. ITS SUPER HARD!”
Sharna Burgess also told Us Weekly that performing with Brian Austin Green is kind of a disadvantage at the end of the day.
“Honestly, it’s almost a disadvantage,” the 36-year-old dancer admitted. “We have this sensitivity when minding each other’s feelings. We want to make sure our relationship is good outside of it. That’s always going to be a priority for us.”
The second episode of Disney Week airs tonight at 8 PM. You can catch Brian and Sharna performing a Paso Doble to “He’s a Pirate” from Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Hopefully, they’ll score a little better with the judges tonight.
