Do Jill And Derick Dillard Want To Have More Kids After Miscarriage?
On Monday, Jill and Derick Dillard made a sad announcement to fans. The pair was expecting their third child together, and unfortunately, they had a miscarriage. Jill posted a short video to her YouTube channel and Instagram page, opening up about the miscarriage earlier this month. The video highlighted the early moments of her pregnancy, including taking a pregnancy test and telling her two sons, Israel and Samuel, that they were going to be big brothers.
In her caption, she wrote, “We recently found out we were expecting our third baby. We were thrilled! However, a few days later we started miscarrying.” In the video, she reveals that they named the baby River Bliss because they did not know the baby’s gender.
Could the Counting On couple’s family grow again?
Since Jill’s miscarriage, the couple hasn’t revealed their plans for their family’s future. So, it’s unclear if any of their plans have changed as a result of the miscarriage. However, in an interview in February, they revealed they do want to have more children. Recently, they revealed that they use birth control, so it’s possible that their most recent pregnancy was planned. This is different from many Duggar kids’ family planning beliefs.
In the interview, they said they “would love” to have more children, but they didn’t appear to be in a hurry. At the time, they said they were “content right now.” Plus, Derick was in law school when they were interviewed.
Derick also revealed that their plans for their children are “not definite.” So, it’s possible they will change their minds somewhere down the road.
Jill and Derick Dillard might adopt a child.
Also in the interview, Jill and Derick shared that they are interested in adopting a child. In the interview with Us, the former TLC stars revealed, “We’re definitely open to wherever God leads us. And we’ve also talked about adoption possibly in the future. … Derick’s uncle was adopted.”
Derick also said he would be interested in raising their biological children alongside adopted children. So, it’s possible they will go that route in the future.
For now, the family is taking some time to heal from their miscarriage. Jill and Derick have not yet revealed their plans for having more kids after the loss.
So, do you think Jill and Derick Dillard will end up adopting someday? Let us know in the comments below.
