‘WCTH’ Alum Daniel Lissing, Sara Canning Star In GAC’s ‘A Christmas Star’
Daniel Lissing fans are going to have the happiest of holiday seasons. The When Calls The Heart alum is not in one Christmas special, but in two. Lissing (The Rookie, S.W.A.T.), and Sara Canning (Nancy Drew, The Christmas Yule Blog) is starring in a new GAC Family movie called A Christmas Star. Lissing will trade in his Mountie gear for a National Park Ranger uniform.

What Is Daniel Lissing, Sara Canning’s Christmas Movie About?
Daniel Lissing is starring alongside Sara Canning in a new Christmas movie. What is it all about? According to the GAC Family press release for A Christmas Star, this is the story about an astronomer, Madeline Baggett (Canning). Madeline searches for life beyond Earth.
Moreover, when she believes she has found it, the scientist convinces her boss to allow her to travel to a small hamlet in Upstate New York. where Madeline hopes to capture a once-in-a-lifetime event.
With refractors, telescopes, and a small film crew in tow, Madeline arrives and sets up in Summit Ridge. Here, she meets widowed National Park Ranger Ryan Sparks (Lissing) and his young daughter, Celeste.
With Ryan’s help, Madeline begins to chart the celestial event which brings the pair closer to finding love under the stars.

When Calls The Heart Alum Has More GAC Christmas Appearances
Hearties have a lot to be excited about these days. Not only are they filming When Calls The Heart Season 9, but When Hope Calls is coming back for Season 2. However, WHC will be on GAC Family, the new network started by former Hallmark CEO Bill Abbott.
The first two episodes will include former WCTH star Lori Loughlin, reprising her role as Abigail Stanton. Coming along for this journey is Carter Ryan, reprising his role as Cody Stanton.
Now, Daniel Lissing will be joining Lori in the first two episodes of WHC Season 2. Although his role has not been announced, he must be portraying Jack Thornton, his WCTH character. That is, unless he is playing Jack’s twin. Then again, he could be playing Jack’s ghost.
No matter what, Hearties are excited to see him back!
Is Daniel Lissing In The Cleaning Lady?
Since leaving When Calls The Heart, Daniel Lissing has had a reoccurring guest appearance on The Rookie, portraying Sterling Freeman. Freeman was a 20-something actor who was along to get some insights into a television role was he playing. Sterling also got involved with Officer Jackson West (Titus Makin Jr.).
More recently, he was shooting the pilot for the new series, The Cleaning Lady. Although IMDb has not updated anything about his role, Deadline reports that Lissing is on “reoccurring” status on the Fox series.
