Whitney Bates Shares Heartbreaking Details Of Jadon’s NICU Stay
It hasn’t been an easy year for Bringing Up Bates stars Zach and Whitney. Their fourth child, a son named Jadon Carl, arrived a few months ago. After his birth, he spent some time in the NICU. While he was in the hospital, Zach and Whitney shared plenty of updates with fans. Now, Whitney is giving fans more details about what happened during the hospital stay.
On Instagram Sunday, Whitney shared a couple of new photos of herself and her baby son. While she was at church, a specific line caught her attention, “I know what’er befalls me, Jesus doeth all things well.”
During the church service, the mom was cradling her young baby. She writes, “In spite of the things that happen to us- no matter how overwhelming, or impossible- we can trust the Lord Jesus will do ALL things well. Jadon had fallen asleep in my arms during service, and all I could do was hold him tight and thank God. I thought back to June, when our world was turned upside down when he was in NICU. After being there for several days, he was still struggling with his breathing and had been intubated and had a chest tube.”
Whitney Bates reveals new details about the NICU stay.
In her post, she continued, “The next option was a special medicine that they typically don’t use for babies his age. They would put it in his lungs to see if it would loosen his lungs and help him improve. Up to this point he would make tiny steps with the ventilator and chest tube, and then go right back to not doing well. It was a rollercoaster!”
Then, the mom shared more sad details. She wrote, “I remember coming to his hospital room to see him after visiting with the other kids. While I was gone, a nurse had came by and told Zach that after they try this medicine, there was nothing else they could do. When I got back and heard, my heart was shattered. It was our last hope and we felt so helpless. Watching him struggle and not being able to hold him was heartbreaking.”
Later in her post, Whitney explains how they were praying for their son and how their prayers were answered. You can read her full post here.
