Amanda Kloots Pays Tribute To Late Husband On ‘DWTS’ This Year
Losing a spouse is never easy. But it’s especially hard when it was so unexpected. Former Rockette Amanda Kloots and Broadway star Nick Cordero married in 2017 and had one son together, Elvis. But Nick tragically passed away during the summer of 2020 due to COVID-19 complications.
The Talk Co-Host Amanda Kloots wants to give an excellent performance in memory of Nick Cordero
Now, Amanda Kloots is doing her best to raise Elvis as a single mom. But that doesn’t mean Nick is ever far from their hearts. She plans to honor his memory through her Dancing With The Stars performance this year.
“It’s gonna be hard. I know it’ll be emotional but I honestly — it’s gonna sound weird to say — I’m looking forward to it,” Amanda shared with ET. “I do think that there will be some very therapeutic and cathartic moments on this show.”
The Talk co-host says she knows that Nick would cheer her on if he was still here today. That’s why she wants to dedicate her performances to him.
“I wanna dance to Nick’s song,” Amanda stated. Nick’s special song was “Life Your Life.” During his stay in the hospital, she asked friends, fans, and family to play it every day while he recovered. “… I know he’ll be with me on the dance floor every single time… I know it’ll be tough, but in a weird way, I kind of really look forward to that moment where I get to dance to his music.”
Nick Cordero came down COVID-19 in the early stages of the pandemic. He never got better and passed away on July 5, 2020 after a three-month hospital stay.
Will this former dancer have any sort of special advantage on the dance floor?
As a former Rockette, many Dancing With The Stars fans expect that Amanda Kloots will have an advantage on the dance floor. However, she says this isn’t the case at all.
“If you could see these rehearsals, you’d know that I have no advantage,” she told ET. “I’m telling you, it’s like a new language. It’s like you know English, but now you’re learning French. It’s starting from scratch.”
Rumor has it that Amanda Kloots will compete with Alan Bersten, the DWTS Season 28 champion. Last year, Alan and his partner Skai Jackson finished in 5th place out of 15 couples. With Amanda’s dance background, it’s pretty likely that they will get pretty far.
Don’t forget to tune into Dancing With The Stars Season 30. The fun kicks off on September 20 on ABC. Who do you hope will take home the Mirrorball Trophy this year? We want to hear from you.
