Wait, Is JoJo Fletcher Joining The Cast of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Too?
Many Bachelor Nation stars go on to do Dancing With The Stars. But JoJo Fletcher says her contract prohibited her from joining the popular dance series. So what exactly is going on here?
Many fans felt certain JoJo was going to compete on DWTS Season 30 after they spotted her in Los Angeles. But the former Bachelorette put an end to those rumors, ET Canada reports.
“Funny story — I was supposed to do ‘Dancing with the Stars’ after my season of ‘The Bachelorette’ but ended up not being able to because of my contract,” JoJo informed fans on her Instagram story. This isn’t the first time this reportedly happened to a former Bachelorette.
JoJo Fletcher wasn’t the only Bachelor Nation star that wasn’t able to do DWTS
Like JoJo Fletcher, Kaitlyn Bristowe also reportedly wanted to do Dancing With The Stars after her season of The Bachelorette wrapped up.
“I didn’t even know how the process went. I was offered Dancing With the Stars after I came off The Bachelorette. But, again, I was naïve and didn’t understand how the TV world worked,” Kaitlyn told TV Insider. “I didn’t know I had to ask if I could do this, but I was still under contract from The Bachelorette. I was so excited to be asked. Then, a few days before the casting was announced, [the producers] said, ‘You’re still under contract and we’d like you to focus on your relationship. You can’t do Dancing With the Stars.’”
But even so, it seems like Bachelor producers changed their minds on some level. Kaitlyn Bristowe went on to win DWTS Season 29 with Artem Chigvintsev. Other Bachelor Nation stars went on to compete in the ballroom not long after their season ended. In fact, Us Weekly even confirmed Matt James will be on the upcoming DWTS season. Matt James was the most recent Bachelor, but it doesn’t seem like ABC has a problem with him competing on DWTS.
Is there a double standard here?
So why has it been a problem when Kaitlyn and JoJo wanted to compete on Dancing With The Stars? Is there some sort of double standard here for male and female Bachelor Nation personas? Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments.
Even though JoJo Fletcher seemed a little disappointed she won’t be on DWTS, it really seems like she’s enjoying her best life. Be sure to follow her on Instagram to keep up.
In the meantime, be sure to tune in to ABC on September 20 and catch the new season of Dancing With The Stars. A full cast list isn’t out yet, but there will be a lot to look forward to. JoJo Siwa and Suni Lee are part of Season 30. Who else do you think will join the cast? Please let us know who you want to see this year!
