Duggar: Joy, Austin Forsyth Go Out On Date Night
Austin Forsyth and Joy-Anna Duggar are going out on a date night and enjoying themselves! On Thursday evening, the couple shared a picture on their joint Instagram account. They didn’t share the details about where they are going.
In the caption of the cute picture, they wrote, “My anchor! PC: @janamduggar #datenight #bestfriend #hemakesmesmile”. “PC” means that they are giving credit to Joy’s sister Jana for taking the photo. Maybe Jana is babysitting Gideon while his parents get away for the evening.

Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth lose daughter
In the post, Joy refers to Austin as her “anchor”. This is likely due to their recent loss. At 20 weeks gestation, the couple went in for the gender reveal ultrasound for their second child. At the time, the baby’s heartbeat could not be found.
After this happened, Joy and Austin opened up to their followers and shared the details. They wrote, “Today marks one week since we heard these words…’So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.’ We had gone in for our 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal. It was a baby girl.”
The couple shared another post a couple of days later. They had a photo shoot with their stillborn daughter. Once again, they opened up and shared these intimate photos with their followers.
In response to these heartbreaking posts, fans commented that they were praying for Joy and Austin. They shared words of encouragement during this tough time.
As Joy and Austin grieved, they took some time off social media. Earlier this week, they began posting again. They shared a sweet photo of Joy cuddling with their one-year-old son, Gideon. As they have continued to post new pictures, they are still receiving encouraging comments on their photos. Though the couple may still be grieving, fans are happy to see them getting back into their normal routine.
Joy and Austin’s relationship
Joy and Austin have known each other for a long time. They went to the same church after Austin’s family made the move to Arkansas. By the time Joy and Austin announced their courtship in November 2016, they had already known each other for around 15 years.
Then, the couple got engaged in March 2017 and were married in May 2017. They had their first son in February 2018.
On their second wedding anniversary in May, Joy wrote a sweet post dedicated to Austin. She shared,
“It’s hard to believe that’s its already been two years since we said ‘I do’. I am so thankful for the strong man and the spiritual leader you are in my life! You are my anchor when my crazy waves of emotions seem to take over. You’re patience and unconditional love towards me is more than I deserve. I love doing life with you… our spontaneous adventures, dreaming of the future together, working together… You are the person that I want to share my best memories and my toughest trials with!”
