‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers Week of June 17: A Death in the Family Rocks Salem
Days of Our Lives fans can expect a lot of familiar faces the week of June 17. News broke in October of 2018 that actress Peggy McCay passed away. She played DOOL matriarch Caroline Brady since off and on between 1983 and 2016 when Caroline moved to California to live.
Will and Sonny ReMarry, Will Flatlines
Last week, Will (Chandler Massey) found out his brain tumor is terminal. This news prompted him to propose to Sonny (Freddie Smith.) The duo remarries at the beginning of the week with Marlena (Deidra Hall) presiding over the nuptials.
Spoilers say that after the wedding, Will flatlines and as he walks toward the light, he sees Caroline Brady.
Why Did Will See Caroline During Near-Death Experience?
Caroline urges Will to walk away from the light. When Will wakes up, he recounts to Marlena and Sami (Alison Sweeney) his near-death experience. Sami and Lucas (Bryan Ditallo) have rushed back to town to be with their son.
Everyone is confused about why Caroline would be waiting for Will, given that she is alive and well in California. Soon after, the devastating news is shared that Caroline has passed away. Sami is the one who informs Will when he regains consciousness.
Days of Our Lives uses the real voice of Peggy McCay during these scenes with Will, making them all too realistic and emotional.
Residents of Days Of Our Lives town of Salem Learn of Caroline’s Death
The first few days of the week are happy – Will and Sonny are married. Then, just as Will goes into cardiac arrest, Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) hears from the family that Caroline is dead.
The middle of the week will feature shock and grief as the news about Caroline spreads. Kayla takes a special trip to the Kiriakis mansion to tell Victor (John Aniston.) Long-time viewers know that Caroline and Victor had an affair that resulted in Bo (last played by Peter Reckell.) This revelation was a huge story in the ‘80s and still resonates in DOOL storylines today.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) goes to Victor on Bo’s behalf to comfort him. She encourages him to attend the upcoming memorial, as awkward as that may be. At the end of the week, characters from out-of-town return to gather for the memorial. Some of those returning are Carrie (Christie Clark,) Shawn (Brandon Beemer,) and Belle (Martha Madison.)
Unfortunately, Patsy Pease (Kimberly Brady) was unable to return due to medical reasons of her own. The memorial gathering at Brady pub airs the following week. Many of the returning characters stay in Salem through the summer storylines.
Sadly, she was unavailable to us as she had just had surgery.

Tripp Dumps Claire
The walls are closing in on pyromaniac Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan.) Tripp (Lucas Adams) finds out from Ciara (Victoria Koneful) that Claire was behind the cabin fire that almost killed her. By the end of the week, Tripp dumps Claire. For good this time. How will Salem’s resident bad girl react to the news?
Bad Boys of DOOL Try to Impress Good Girls of Salem
Ted (Gilles Marini) and Xander (Paul Telfer) have their eyes on two of Salem’s goody-two-shoes. Ted is dating Hope while Xander is trying to rekindle his one-night-stand with Sarah (Lindsey Godfrey.)
Xander turns the diary needed for Will’s recovery over to Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) to earn points with Sarah. Ted thinks he is winning over Hope by telling Nicole (Ariana Zucker) that her child is still alive.
Unfortunately, Nicole is actually Kristen (Stacy Haiduk.) Kristen isn’t happy about being double-crossed. She tells Xander to “take care” of Ted. Will Xander risk losing Sarah by doing Kristen’s dirty work?
