Why Is ‘Seeking Sister Wife’ Roberta Emotional About Her Father?
TLC shares a new clip for Seeking Sister Wife. This time the Merrifields (and Roberta) are at the wedding venue. While the last couple of episodes routinely show Garrick Merrifield’s new ex-wife, Dannielle being emotional, he doesn’t seem phased. When it comes to his new bride-t0-be, Roberta she seems to show sympathy towards her future sister wife. However, according to the clip TLC posts on Instagram, Roberta shares some emotion. What about the upcoming wedding reminds Roberta about her father and makes her emotional? Keep reading to find out more.
Seeking Sister Wife Merrifields and Roberta go to the wedding venue
The clip for the upcoming episode begins with the Merrifields at the wedding venue. The venue coordinator tells the trio that if they had come about thirty minutes earlier, they would have seen a whale jumping in the water. The coordinator repeatedly says, “It’s a very special sea.” Almost on queue, a whale jumps in the ocean in front of them.
Shocking, Garrick is the one that brings up Roberta’s father. He shares with everyone that Roberta and her father used to come to the ocean. Seemingly with no emotion in his voice, Garrick shares that Roberta’s father passed away a few years ago.
Roberta gets emotional about her father
Next, the clip features Roberta in a confessional segment of Seeking Sister Wife. She shares that her father was a great person. Additionally, Roberta says, “I’m sure he would love Garrick as his own son.” Roberta also clears up a question about what her family would think about her adopting a polygamous lifestyle. Roberta says, “And he would wholeheartedly accept this plural family.” Furthermore, she explains how she knows her father would accept this lifestyle. The bride-t0-be says, “because all he ever thought about was love.”
Towards the end of the clip, Roberta’s voice seems to crack and she appears emotional. She says that the sea and ocean remind her of her father. However, she makes the best of a sad situation and shares that “it’s also a way of paying homage to him.” As any daughter getting ready to walk down the aisle, she says, “I would like nothing more than to have him here with me but I know I have him in my heart.” At this point, Roberta gets noticeably emotional as she begins to cry.
