‘The Bachelor’ Host Chris Harrison To Speak Following His Decision To Step Aside
Chris Harrison will finally set to speak publicly. The news comes following his announcement he would be stepping aside for an undetermined amount of time, He has been under fire since his interview with Rachel Lindsay regarding Rachael Kirkconnell. It seems the entire Bachelor franchise is an uproar over racist allegations. In fact, Taylor Nolan was just thrown into that mix when old tweets she’d made surfaced. Fans have been waiting to hear from Chris as rumors fly he could be replaced permanently.
Chris Harrison to speak publicly following the racism controversy
Entertainment Tonight confirmed that Chris Harrison will be speaking out this Thursday morning. He will appear on Good Morning America. And, Michael Strahan will conduct the interview. Ironically, Michael is one of the contenders being rumored for his job should they replace him for good.
Fans have not heard from Chris since his announcement that he was stepping aside. Many are anxious to hear what he has to say.
The controversy began when Chris completed an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. In the interview, the past racist actions of Rachael Kirkconnell became a subject for discussion. Rachael is a front runner on Matt James current season of The Bachelor. In fact, she’s already in the top three. And, rumor has it she will receive Matt’s final rose. If that’s true, other rumors are also out that they have already parted ways over this scandal.
As far as Chris Harrison’s part in it all, he asked that people show her grace until she was able to speak out for herself. Plus, he said the world looked through a different lens in 2018 than they do today. When saying that he was referring to the photos of the Old South Ball Rachael had attended during college.

Chris initially apologized to Bachelor Nation after his interview with Rachel stirred up so much drama. Later, he went back to social media to announce he was stepping down as host for a period of time. In his statement, he said, “By excusing historical racism, I defended it. I invoked the term ‘woke police,’ which is unacceptable.” He continued, “I am ashamed over how uninformed I was. I was so wrong.”
Chris continued, “The historic season of The Bachelor should not be marred or overshadowed by my mistakes or diminished by my actions. To that end, I have consulted with Warner Bros. and ABC and will be stepping aside for a period of time.”
Sources have said Chris is concerned about the whole situation and the changes that are occurring. Just this weekend, Emmanuel Acho confirmed being named the stand-in host for After the Final Rose.
He was reportedly Rachel Lindsay’s pick to host the special.
