He’s making history
In June, ABC announced Matt as their first Black male lead. He followed Rachel Lindsay who was the first female Black lead. Now, Tayshia Adams reportedly became the second female to be cast as a minority lead for The Bachelorette.
Matt was first chosen to compete for Clare Crawley’s heart on The Bachelorette. They had a bit of a falling out and ABC decided they really liked Matt’s character. They felt he would be perfect for The Bachelor. So, here we are. Matt is getting ready to meet the group of women that could potentially contain his future bride.
He is looking for a woman who is “selfless, honest, caring [and] compassionate.” And, his mother is already requesting a full basketball team of grandkids. Matt is hoping to show the world that diverse relationships can be amazing. He has gained tons of support from Bachelor Nation who is hoping to see Matt find love.
Tyler Cameron will no doubt be cheering him on. Who knows, maybe he will even make an appearance this season. Sean Lowe was asked to give some advice, but declined due to the quarantine requirements.
