Joy Duggar Talks About Meeting Her Baby Girl
Counting On fans know that Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin Forsyth recently became parents to two kids. Now, Joy is opening up about meeting her baby girl for the first time.
Joy and Austin’s daughter was born in August. They named her Evelyn Mae. She joins big brother Gideon.
Joy’s hospital birth was documented in a couple of YouTube videos on the couple’s channel. As they are no longer filming for the family’s show, they are sharing pieces of their lives on the video platform. While Duggar fans will miss them on Counting On, some prefer YouTube. This is because Joy and Austin get to choose what’s featured on their channel and how it’s shown. It seems more authentic, some fans think.
Joy Duggar shares new video
In a new YouTube video, Joy shares the intimate moment where she met her daughter for the first time. Both Joy and Austin are crying in the video.
Once the baby arrives, Joy pulls her onto her chest to hold her close. She says, “We have a baby. I can’t believe it. I did it.” Then, Austin says, “You did it, babe. She is beautiful.” Austin gives his wife a kiss on her forehead and admires his new little one.
About meeting her daughter, Joy writes, “Leading up to Evelyn’s birth, this is the moment I was looking forward to the most, holding her in my arms for the first time.”
She continues, “In the end, it didn’t matter how she got here, as long as mom and baby we’re healthy!”

In June 2019, Joy tragically lost a baby at 20 weeks gestation. So, this new baby is the couple’s rainbow baby. That loss likely made the moment of meeting their daughter even more special. They talk about how long they have been waiting to hold her.
So far, Duggar fans are loving the new video and think it’s sweet of the family to share these moments with their fans. Plus, fans love to see the emotional side of Austin, which isn’t often featured on Counting On.
Since the baby’s arrival, Joy and Austin have been sharing plenty of photos of her on social media. Naturally, their followers are gushing over Evelyn and Gideon together. Gideon already adores his baby sister and is often pictured holding her.
