‘The View’ Ana Navarro Reveals Husband’s Heartbreaking Diagnosis
Ana Navarro is never shy about sharing her opinion, especially about politics. However, she keeps her personal life mostly private. In a rare occurrence, The View host shared something deeply personal: her husband has been diagnosed with a heartbreaking medical condition.
Ana Navarro Reveals Husband’s Heartbreaking Diagnosis
Ana Navarro spent part of the summer overseas on a relaxing vacation with her close friends. But now she’s back at work on The View. The popular ABC talk show returned for Season 30. The hosts had a lot to talk about after being off the air for months.

Ana Navarro joined The View in 2013 in a small role. Her role increased over the years until she became a full-time host in 2022. Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin were reportedly guests at Ana Navarro’s 2019 wedding to Al Cárdenas. The couple had known each other since the 1990s but were just friends for years until romance blossomed.
She has shared tidbits and stories about her husband over the years. However, Ana Navarro revealed, with her husband’s permission, that he was battling a serious health condition. “Al was diagnosed with Parkinson’s over two years ago,” The View host shared on Instagram in a clip from her Bleep! With Ana Navarro podcast.

She said that she and her husband were inspired by singer Carly Simon’s announcement in July that she was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. “We talked about the need of destigmatizing this disease. We talked about the need, the duty, the opportunity of using my public platform to talk about it,” Ana Navarro explained about her husband’s decision to go public with the diagnosis.
The View Fans Rally Around Her
Carly Simon is just one of several famous faces battling Parkinson’s disease. Back to the Future star Michael J. Fox disclosed his diagnosis in 1998. The beloved actor received the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award at the 2026 Emmys for his advocacy for Parkinson’s disease research.
Ana Navarro encouraged fans to listen to her podcast “to hear me discuss what being one of the 1 million American families living with Parkinson’s has been like for us.” The full podcast episode is available to stream now. The social media post was flooded with support and stories from fans whose loved ones were diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
