‘Scumbag’ Howard Stern Snaps Back At Haters
Howard Stern has had an eventful last few months. Not only did he lose one of his stations to a Bravo personality, but a lot of his staff ended up getting laid off. Now, he’s finally speaking up about what people are saying about him. Needless to say, he doesn’t seem happy.
Howard Stern Lays Off Staff
The last year has been filled with a lot of ups and downs for Howard Stern. He got to extend his SiriusXM contract for three years; however, that came at a major cost for his staff. He had to lay off a significant amount of his team.

The first round of layoffs came in February. However, unfortunately, they didn’t stop there.
After the first round of layoffs, he lost one of his two stations, Howard 101, to Andy Cohen, who will now be getting his own station on Sirius. Since Howard doesn’t have two stations anymore, another round of layoffs came for his team this summer. Now, he’s only releasing one new episode a week on his one channel.
Aside from these major changes, Howard is also getting his own HBO show. However, even that seems to be affected by the layoffs. Apparently, there isn’t enough staff to edit the show. At this point, it seems like everything is complete chaos.
“No one knows anything. Things are being removed from the studio that shouldn’t have been,” a source says. “It’s all been general chaos, and I don’t think anyone is happy there.”
All of this back and forth has led to a lot of negativity and backlash around Howard Stern, and he’s finally speaking out about it.
Speaking Out Against The Haters
Needless to say, Howard doesn’t seem thrilled with how he’s being portrayed in the media, Page Six reports.
“I’ve never had a summer where I was treated so well in the press,” he said sarcastically during the season premiere of The Howard Stern Show.
His sarcasm continued, talking about how many people called him a ‘scumbag.’
“It was so positive. I can’t believe it,” he jokes. “I can’t tell you how many different people have called me a scumbag.”
During the episode, he cleared up everything going on around the loss of his second show. Howard claims that he simply “didn’t want the responsibility.”
“I’ve never been more successful. I am the most successful radio personality,” he says.
Howard continues saying, “I mean, not that that’s anything to boast. I mean, it didn’t take much effort.”
While he seemed to have a lot of feelings regarding his own name this summer, the radio show host still hasn’t spoken out about all of the layoffs that happened.
