'Today' Hoda Kotb Talks Relationship Status With Sandra Bullock

Fans have been following Hoda Kotb’s life, even after she made her official exit from Today. However, a recent guest wanted a follow-up on a story Kotb shared that previously made headlines. This was none other than actress Sandra Bullock during a recent conversation.

Kotb is a media personality best known to many through her work on Today. After leaving the morning show in early 2025, she has moved on to her wellness company, Joy 101.

In her personal life, Kotb was known for starting a relationship with New York financier Joel Schiffman back in 2013. The couple’s engagement was later announced on Today in 2019. However, the two ended their engagement around 2022, although the two continue to co-parent their adopted daughters together as friends.

Recently, Kotb sat down to speak with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman during her “Making Space” podcast, who recently reunited for the witchy sequel, Practical Magic 2. During the moment, Bullock brought up a “meet cute” moment Kotb talked about on-air last month.

This was an interview Kotb gave on Today With Jenna & Friends last month. At the time, she shared a story about meeting a man on a flight. She explained that their chemistry was “firing on all cylinders.”

Sandra asked, “A question was posed to you about a flight that you took, and there was a little conversation and a little sparklet? What happened?”

Hoda was visibly flustered as she answered the question: “So I was on a plane, and I sat next to some guy, and he’s super whatever.” She shared, “I didn’t know if it was a connection, like just a bond for a second, or was it something — I don’t know… I still don’t know…This is my favorite interview ever.” The Today personality then jokingly gestured for her mystery man to call her.
