Sherri Shepherd Announces Return To Broadway After Talk Show Cancellation
Sherri Shepherd made a name for herself as a stand-up comedian before moving into acting. She had roles on The Jamie Fox Show, Suddenly Susan, and Less Than Perfect. The comedian was a co-host on The View for seven seasons before launching her own daytime talk show in 2022.
Sherri Shepherd was heartbroken when Sherri was canceled. However, she revealed exciting career news this week. She’s heading back to Broadway in a history-making role. Starting in October, she takes on the role of the genie in Aladdin for a limited run. Sherri Shepherd will be the first woman to play the role. She previously made her Broadway debut in 2014 playing the Evil Stepmother in Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

Former The View Host Shows Off Slim Figure After Massive Weight Loss, Pics
Sherri Shepherd’s latest role is the sole survivor of the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York City on September 11, 2001. She portrays Genelle Guzman-McMillan in Lifetime’s Angel in the Rubble. The movie, produced by Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, tells the story of the harrowing 27 hours the transit worker spent under the rubble after the World Trade Center towers fell. Dondré Whitfield also stars in the movie.
Sherri Shepherd and the cast gathered in New York City on Wednesday, September 9, for the premiere. The former talk show host wore a form-fitting royal blue dress. She looked slimmer than ever after losing 50 lbs. See those photos here.
