Season 30 of The View began on September 8th, and viewers were excited to see what the show would bring. It is an iconic year with many surprises in store, but one big moment regarding Whoopi Goldberg was omitted from the cable airing. So, what tea did the Oscar winner have to share? Keep reading for more details.

Whoopi Goldberg Was Spilling The Tea

Season 30 is a huge event for The View ladies. To be around this long is a major milestone, especially thinking back to the central idea of the talk show. Barbara Walters wanted to create a female-centric show where everyone had differing opinions. Yet, they were to respect and listen to each other kindly, showing that there was a safe space for everyone. Hosts may have changed, but the idea behind what the show represents remains the same. During the Season 30 premiere, they noted how Joy Behar had been there the longest.

Whoopi Goldberg, who joined in 2007, said that Joy has “hosted more seasons of an American talk show than any other woman.” Joy, 83, then added this:

“I said to Barbara, ‘We’re going to get old on this show,’ [and] she said, ‘You got to get old anyway.’ I’m here longer than the Jolly Green Giant.”

Along with the reminiscing, Whoopi had some exciting news to share about the status of Sister Act 3. However, only the studio audience was privy to the update. Many have been waiting to know more and to learn when they can expect the film to be released. Yet, it has taken a very long time. So, what did Whoopi have to say during the Season 30 premiere of The View?

“We’ve got new writers and we explained the story to the 5,000th person who needed to know. They seem to be able to make everything else, but they’re kind of making us walk a tightrope. So we’re trying.”

For now, she seems content as The View moderator but would like to complete the film sooner rather than later.

Fans Want Sister Act 3

The first two Sister Act films did incredibly well, so there is a demand for another. However, fans are fearful that, because it has been in the works so long, it may never happen. Yet, when and if it does, there will be people waiting in the theaters:

  • I don’t care what the storyline is for the third film, but I am definitely going to watch it in cinemas and getting the DVD when it comes out, the only thing I would hope for is that it makes me cry like it did the first two films
  • my grandma was a big fan of the sister act movies thank you for inspiring her and making her laugh Ms. Whoopi
