RHOBH Star ‘Terrified’ Her & Daughters Exposed To Deadly Disease

Charlie Sheen opened up in a recent Netflix documentary about the HIV diagnosis. He revealed that his ex-wife, Denise Richards, encouraged him to get tested after he was extremely sick with headaches and chills. HIV can lead to the deadly AIDS virus. Tens of thousands of people succumbed to the disease during the AIDS epidemic in the 1980s. But treatment has come a long way since then. In many cases, HIV can be managed and never develop into AIDS.

But it’s still a scary situation. HIV is transmitted through bodily fluids, including blood, semen, and breast milk. Drug use and unprotected sex are the most common methods of transmission.

While he didn’t go public with the news until 2015, he told Denise Richards in 2011. She was reportedly upset about her possible exposure to HIV and transmitting it to her children.  “She got herself and the kids tested, terrified that they would test positive. Thank God, they didn’t,” Radar Online reported.

Despite their divorce and his illness, Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are closer now than ever. He’s reportedly rebuilding his relationship with their daughters. The actor, 63, is on a treatment regimen for HIV and seems to be doing well.
