Harry Shum Jr. Admits Assumptions About Dance Background Are ‘Not True’
Harry Shum Jr. has admitted that some of the assumptions being made about his dance background are “just not true”. This has intrigued fans, as they want to know what he thinks about his dance background. Usually, fans expect competitors with a dance background to do much better than those without one. Dancing With The Stars Season 35 Comes Around
Dancing With The Stars is something that fans look forward to every year. Now, Season 35 has come back around. The cast was revealed this week, and this was something that people were ecstatic about. A lot of fan-favorite stars were announced. Ciara Miller, Maura Higgins, Julia Stiles, Harry Shum Jr., and more were announced. The pairings were something that fans were excited about as well. However, some were disappointed in the pairing of Harry Shum Jr. simply because that was Britt’s dream partner. However, they paired him with who they thought would suit him best.
Harry Shum Jr. Admits Things About Dance Background Aren’t ‘True’
Harry Shum Jr. has admitted that assumptions fans have about his dance background just aren’t true. While he knows how to dance and was on Glee, he does not think that this is going to help him in the competition as much as people think.
“I think everyone’s idea is like, ‘Oh, you dance, so you should be able to dance anything.’ And I mean, that’s just not true. There are hundreds of styles, not dozens, hundreds all over the world. It’s just a whole new vocabulary. I’m excited for the challenge, and I’m very ignorant to it, in a sense of like I don’t know anything about it. So [Jenna’s] teaching me the ropes, and hopefully we can execute on stage.”
While he feels this way, he is excited to see where the show is going to take him. Fans cannot wait to see how he does on Season 35.

It seems as though Harry Shum Jr. does not think his background in dance is going to make much of a difference. He realizes that there are a lot of different styles of dancing. So, what he has experience in is not going to help him with those. While this may be true, fans still think that he may have a leg up on the other competitors.
