’60 Minutes’ Stephen Colbert’s Daughter Resigns From Show
60 Minutes has gone through a number of changes over the past year, with many figures leaving the show. However, news has come out that one figure recently walked away from the show. This is someone with a connection to a prominent figure in the media, who also recently shared their goodbyes with CBS: former late-night host Stephen Colbert.
Stephen Colbert’s Daughter, Madeleine Carlisle, Joined 60 Minutes As An Associate Producer Back In 2022
This past October, Bari Weiss was installed as the editor-in-chief of CBS News. Since then, several people have changed and lost various positions throughout the network.
One program that has been especially affected by the move is 60 Minutes. Figures who have left the show, whether or not by choice, have already included Anderson Cooper, Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecilia Vega, and Tanya Simon.

Recently, it’s been announced that Madeleine Carlisle, daughter of television personality Stephen Colbert, has resigned from her position as an associate producer on the news program. The news had been announced in Oliver Darcy’s Status newsletter, which shared that she had handed in her notice over the past few days.
The Move Comes Out Months After Carlisle’s Father Signed Off On The Late Show For The Last Time
Carlisle, who was described as “well-regarded” by the outlet, had joined CBS News back in 2017 as an intern. Initially leaving for The Atlantic and Time magazine, she returned in 2022, serving as an associate producer for 60 Minutes for nearly four years.
Notably, the exit comes out over two months after her father signed off from his final episode of The Late Show. At the time, CBS announced that they would be retiring The Late Show‘s format altogether.

According to the recent report, Carlisle might not be the only staffer planning an exit from 60 Minutes. Other producers are reportedly “actively exploring options” that could see further departures from the show.
Around this time, however, 60 Minutes has also announced new hires. As previously reported, such figures include Sir Trevor Phillips and Ross Douthat. In addition, Nick Bilton was recently appointed as the program’s new executive producer.

On social media, Carlisle was known for promoting the news program prior to her departure. Around two months prior, she shared a post on LinkedIn thanking viewers for following the show as it went into its 58th season, writing, “Thank you for being with us this year for the 58th season of 60 Minutes.”
