‘Today’ Al Roker Reveals Last-Minute Issue With Daughter’s Wedding
Al Roker had a big moment in his family to share with fans: his daughter’s wedding. During a recent episode of Today, he shared that an issue took place on the day of the event, right before the ceremony was set to begin. Since then, fans, along with Roker’s co-stars, have been sharing their reactions.
Al Roker’s Daughter, Leila, Recently Tied The Knot Over A Holiday Weekend
Roker is known to many as a weather presenter and journalist, famously working as a weather anchor on NBC’s Today. Over the years, fans have seen Roker hold various roles on the program, from forecasting on Weekend Today to co-hosting the show’s third hour.
In his personal life, Roker has three children. He and his late ex-wife, Alice Bell, adopted a daughter, Courtney, in 1987. He also shares two kids with his wife, Deborah Roberts: a daughter, Leila, and a son, Nick.
In a recent conversation with Swooon, Al shared that Leila and her fiancé, Sylvain Gricourt, were getting married over Mother’s Day weekend. The couple would then celebrate with two different ceremonies.
The Today star shared, “There’s one there [in France], and then one here. So, the one there is for family and friends who can’t travel, and then the other one is for here, for everybody else.”
During a recent episode of Today, however, Roker shared more about his daughter’s nuptials after seeing a video of a young ring bearer falling asleep while riding down the aisle in a toy car. Recalling a similar moment, he shared, “Recently, Leila got married, and [my granddaughter] Sky was gonna be the ring bearer. But she woke up with a fever, so we had to give her some Motrin.”
Roker’s Today Co-Stars Also Shared Their Own Reactions To The Story
Thanks to Sky’s condition, a few tweaks had to be made with Leila’s bridal party. Fortunately, the family came together to help Sky. Roker continued, “Her dad, Wes, had to carry her down while [her mother] Courtney threw the flower petals.”
Roker’s co-workers gushed over the sweet story. Jenna Bush Hager shared, “How cute is that!” Craig Melvin, calling it a “great moment,” teased that Sky “woke up later on the dance floor.” Roker responded, “Yes, she did! Yes, she did.”

Today shared the moment on Instagram, allowing fans to share their own reactions to the sweet moment. Others also made sure to send Leila and Sylvain some congratulations for their big day. Some comments included:
