John Travolta Resurfaces With Shocking New Look

His career stalled a bit in the ensuing decade but was revitalized with the 1994 hit Pulp Fiction. Sadly, the actor suffered huge losses in his personal life when his son, Jett, died at just 16, and later when his wife, Kelly Preston, passed away after a battle with breast cancer.
He made his triumphant return to the industry at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival. But his role was more than just an actor. He attended the star-studded event to premiere his directorial debut. John Travolta stars and directs Propeller One-Way Night Coach alongside his daughter, Ella Bleu Travolta. The film was an adaptation of his 1997 children’s book.
However, his directorial debut was overshadowed by his shocking new look at the event. John Travolta finally accepted a bald look in 2019 after years of toupee rumors. But he covered his head with a beret at Cannes and every interview since then. He explained his new look.
“I’ve been around for over 50 years doing movies, but I can’t tell, when I look back, the difference between the events. I said, ‘I’m a director this time. You’re an actor, play the part of a director, look like an old-school director.’” The beret signifies his career transition from acting to directing.

“I love it. I’m swooning,” she said. Though they never starred in a movie together, Whoopi Goldberg also had high praise for the actor. “John has always been a great dresser. He’s always had style. He’s a wonderful dancer, and he’s actually a really great human being,” she said.
But Joy Behar disagreed.
