‘LIVE’ Mark Consuelos Shocks Audience With Outrageous Question
Mark Consuelos is one of the most well-liked talk show hosts. The show won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series in 2025. The hosts were awarded the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host. LIVE has been a staple at ABC for nearly 40 years. But Mark Consuelos left the studio audience and fans in shock over an absolutely outrageous question.
Mark Consuelos replaced Ryan Seacrest as Kelly Ripa’s co-host in 2023. But their relationship goes beyond the television show. They became a real-life couple after meeting on the set of All My Children in 1995 and eloped the next year. They share three children together – Michael, Lola and Joaquin.

The children are adults now. Lola lives in England, but the entire family reunited recently for an extended family member’s wedding. Mark Consuelos found himself in hot water with the LIVE studio audience after returning to the U.S. after attending the wedding in Italy.

Lisa Best of Chattanooga, Tennessee, claimed that she was part of the Dolly Day Festival. Her other claim was that she took part in a clogging team at the Grand Ole Opry when she was in the seventh grade. Mark Consuelos was stumped and took drastic action to guess correctly, even though he knew it would “ruffle feathers” in the studio.

“I’m going to do something that may ruffle some feathers, but I’m going to do it,” he said before asking, “Do you swear on your kids that you participated in the Dolly Day Festival?”
Kelly Ripa and the audience gasped in horror at the question. “You are not! You are not doing it. Lisa, you do not have to answer that question,” his wife said. Kelly Ripa admonished her husband, “People are gagged! They are shocked! They are outraged!”
Mark Consuelos defended himself, saying he just wanted to win the Stump Mark game. Did he?

The majority of the studio audience guessed that the Dolly Day Festival story. Mark Consuelos agreed and guessed that the Grand Ole Opry story was a lie.
