Andy Cohen Shares City He Would Never Do ‘Real Housewives’
The Real Housewives have made their way around America and even expanded globally. It has hit Dubai, Toronto, and Cheshire, but there is one place Andy Cohen is vehemently against. So, where is it, and why is he saying “no” to this major city? Keep reading for more details on what the host and producer had to say.
A Housewives No-No
On March 21st, 2006, The Real Housewives of Orange County premiered on Bravo and changed the network forever. Yes, reality television was already a hot commodity with The Real World, Survivor, and Big Brother. However, this was a whole new ballgame, and viewers were taken behind the gates of rich women, some married, some engaged, and some in between. They were either being kept by their partners or hustling as hard as they could, but it was a sick thrill to be a fly on those walls. Due to the success, the show expanded to NYC, Beverly Hills, Jersey, and beyond.

It eventually went global to places like Canada and Dubai, and some were epic failures. Recently, the franchise expanded to Rhode Island, being so successful that it was renewed, still in its first season. Andy Cohen is an executive producer and reunion host, plus he is close to many housewives. Despite the immense success, Andy is sharing the one place where he will not bring the show. The father of two is from St. Louis, Missouri, and although he loves going home, he would never bring Housewives there:
“I think it is a hard no. It’s like, I can’t imagine how annoying it would be for my mom, dad, sister, everyone I know to be like, ‘Oh, so-and-so auditioned or so-and-so is on it and is mad at the edit.’ I don’t need this.”
Furthermore, Andy Cohen noted that he has so much going on with the current shows airing that he does not need more. He reiterated that being in his hometown would be so stressful. Everyone he knows and has ever met would be coming up to him, squawking in his ear. That’s a step too far for the Bravo personality.

A Good Choice
When a new location is announced, Bravo fans tend to get excited. They want to see what these women will bring. However, upon learning that Andy Cohen is against a Real Housewives of St. Louis, fans were very happy. They believed that it was a great choice and there was no need for more:
- All his shows simply pit women against women so I’m happy it’s a “hard no” from him!!
- Good call Andy!
- STL is too small, everyone knows everyone, everyone hates everyone. This is all we would talk about 😂
- Andy, leave us be love. There’s other shows to be made.
Just because there will be no St. Louis does not mean that other cities are not up for grabs. Time will Andy and a camera will head to next.
