American Idol and Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest has been concerning viewers with his shocking new face. He appears gaunt and skeletal, which can be hard to watch. Yet, the host apparently loves his new look and does not seem to care what others have to say. Keep reading for more details.

Ryan Seacrest’s Face Is Concerning

It is not so much that Ryan Seacrest is a heartthrob as that he is pleasant to look at. Yet, he recently started to look extremely gaunt, which was hard for longtime fans. They have been watching him host American Idol for two decades. Furthermore, he took over for Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune and has been praised for a job well done. So, he is constantly in the public eye and scrutinized for what he looks like and who he dates. The change in his appearance has raised some red flags and caused a bit of concern as to whether he is healthy or not.

Despite all of the red flags, Ryan likes the way he looks, as he used to struggle with his weight. So, being thin, no matter what the cost, is a huge achievement for the host. He has showcased himself working out and lifting weights, his arms buff and strong. However, the Dunwoody, Georgia native’s face is not reflective of that:

  • He looks like a haunted ventriloquist dummy
  • It’s an odd thing to say, but you can really tell there’s a skull behind his skin
  • He looks sick and unhealthy.
  • I hadn’t watched the show for a while and just happened to tune in a few days ago and was shocked at the way he looks. He does not look well at all.

Some viewers wondered if he had gotten fat removal or was using Ozempic to maintain his weight loss. Yet, others knew that Ryan Seacrest’s father had passed away on Halloween 2025, and he was mourning that loss.

Regardless of the scrutiny, the 51-year-old allegedly loves his new look and is not stopping.

Happy & Loving It

It does not matter how worried fans are about Ryan Seacrest. He seems to love how he looks and his new face, so he is going to keep going. Per Rob Shuter’s Substack, an insider shared this:

“Ryan grew up as a chubby kid, and those insecurities never fully left him. He was teased when he was younger, and even now, he still sees that overweight kid in the mirror. Ryan has worked incredibly hard to look like this. The workouts, the diet, the fasting — he is extremely focused.”

Moreover, Ryan thinks he looks “great,” and is truly confident in his skin. Therefore, no matter what anyone says, this is likely how he will remain.

  1. I just finished watching this past season of American Idol and he looked great on there, but the picture I’m seeing on here is scary. I know how Ryan feels because I too was heavy as a child and when I got down to 100 pounds in my 60s, I was ecstatic. I was wearing XS and I felt so good about myself until I was forced to get off of my hormones and I gained 30 pounds, which might as well have been 100 pounds because that’s how I felt. Everyone kept telling me how good I looked, but I felt obese and the doctor couldn’t give me anything because I wasn’t obese. So, I can relate to how Ryan is feeling even though I agree his face is way too thin. I will always love Ryan though because he reminds me so much of my older brother that took his life 20 years ago.
