Recently, Strahan made an appearance on Bobby Bones Presents: The Bobbycast. Speaking about football and his television career, Strahan also gave an emotional share during the discussion. While there, the GMA co-anchor shared that he has never watched a documentary focused on his daughter Isabella’s cancer journey, in which he himself appeared.

Strahan admitted, “Honestly… I’ve never watched it. I lived it… it’s too hard to watch.”

Isabella was diagnosed with medulloblastoma in late October 2023, just before her 19th birthday. After undergoing multiple surgeries, she was declared cancer-free in July 2024.

Michael Strahan Still Praised His Daughter For Sharing Her Story

Isabella’s journey was later recounted in the documentary Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight Against Cancer. Looking at both her treatment and recovery, the special is available to stream on Hulu.

While Michael has had issues watching the documentary himself, he praised his daughter for sharing her story. As he shared, “Being there every day and seeing it every day… that is the one project that I said, ‘Hand it to the team. ‘This is my baby—take care of my baby—but I can’t be involved in it daily and look at this.’ It was tough.”

As someone who works in media, Michael also admitted that it was hard to put on a brave face with what was going on behind the scenes. He shared, “It was hard going to work smiling… knowing what was happening at home.”

For her part, Isabella has continued to share her ongoing health journey with fans on social media. Earlier this year, she shared a YouTube vlog in which she underwent an MRI to make sure there were no new tumors in her brain. At the time, she shared, “This was like, the hardest MRI I’ve ever done, personally. I usually like MRIs but this one—I don’t know if I was anxious or something—I could not just relax and it was rough.”
