TV Personality Arrested In Husband’s Attempted Murder In Majorca
A television personality and social media influencer was arrested in Majorca for attempted murder. Reportedly, the victim was able to alert emergency services before losing consciousness, before eventually sharing their story. The influencer has also reportedly appeared in court. The Suspect’s Husband Shared When He Started To Feel Unwell
The television personality was described as a 45-year-old influencer with nearly 400,000 followers on Instagram. In addition, she was also said to have around 60,000 followers on Facebook and over 6,700 subscribers on her YouTube channel.
She had been detained on suspicion of attempted murder on the Spanish island of Majorca on Wednesday. The arrest followed her husband telling police he had been poisoned.
The influencer was named British TV personality Amanda Jeffrey. She regularly appears on Spanish talk shows in addition to her social media presence.
Jeffrey is known for promoting the English language. She also previously gained international recognition for producing a 2018 documentary about Majorca’s popular tourist spots.
According to police, the incident occurred on January 10. Jeffrey’s husband reportedly began to feel unwell after drinking a glass of wine prepared by her in their home. She allegedly told him that she had been given drinks as a gift from a hotel, insisting he try them.
Reportedly, Jeffrey changed his wine glass, claiming it was too strong for her. He then claimed that she gave him a mixed drink. He drank it despite reportedly noticing a strange taste.
The Victim Shared His Story With Police After Being Discharged From The Hospital
However, the husband was able to contact emergency services before losing consciousness for around 15 hours. He was rushed to a hospital in La Palma, ultimately spending four days there. Tests were performed to determine the cause of the strange sickness.
The tests found that the husband had been poisoned with a high dose of benzodiazepines, identified as a tranquilizer. After being discharged from the hospital, he went to the National Police station to report that he had been poisoned by his wife.

A probe was then launched by the Family and Women’s Unit, with Jeffrey being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. In a statement, the victim claimed that he had taken out two life insurance policies with Jeffrey as the beneficiary. He also claimed that she insisted on settling his inheritance. Notably, the name of Jeffrey’s husband was withheld from various outlets covering the story.
According to The U.S. Sun, the popular blogger and television personality appeared in court on Thursday. A magistrate ordered her release with a restraining order against the victim.
Reportedly, the victim’s lawyer requested that she not be kept in police custody as the two share a child. According to police, the case is still under investigation.
