‘Rehab Addict’ & HGTV Star Nicole Curtis Fired For Racial Slur
Rehab Addict and HGTV star Nicole Curtis has been axed for using a racial slur. New episodes of the hit reality series were set to start airing on Wednesday, February 11th, 2026. Unfortunately for Curtis and for fans of the show, that is likely not going to happen. Keep reading for all of the details that are currently known.
Nicole Curtis Fired For Racial Slur
Fans of Rehab Addict had been waiting for the rest of Season 9 to drop. They love the hit HGTV show, and the last time the show aired was in July 2025. Fortunately, new episodes were going to drop on Wednesday, February 11th. This was very exciting for viewers who had long anticipated this, but now, that is no longer. Star of the show, Nicole Curtis, has been fired and removed from everything related to the series. She was caught using a racial slur, and that was more than enough for HGTV to cut ties with her.
The slur allegedly occurred during filming of the show, leading the network to end its relationship with Curtis. They released a statement regarding what happened, saying this:
“We understand that language like this is hurtful and disappointing to our viewers, partners, and employees, and it does not align with the values of HGTV.”
Due to what Nicole Curtis has said, the network has chosen to remove Rehab Addict from “all HGTV platforms.” They went on to add:
“We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion across our content and our workplace.”
As for what exactly Curtis said, she was working on a project while filming. She seemed to get frustrated, and that led her to randomly say, “Why? It’s the last one. Oh, fart n—–.” The moment she realized that her slur had been caught on film, Curtis, 49, appeared to get scared. She soon asked for it to be removed:
“What the f— is that I just said? Nick, you gotta, you gotta, can you kill that? F— my life.”
The video HGTV viewers never saw.

Two Years Ago
Now, this is not new footage of the former HGTV star. Rather, it happened around two years ago and has just resurfaced. Regardless, it has killed Nicole Curtis’ career and has gotten her axed from the network. The Lake Orion, Michigan native has lost her career, and Rehab Addict is no longer, and this seems to be for the best. Allegedly, this video has been circulating for some time. However, it was not until 2026 that action was taken, so hopefully, HGTV will stand by what they are doing and not allow this behavior to go on again.
