The View Addresses Shocking Reason For Alyssa Farah Griffin’s Absence
Alyssa Farah Griffin was among the millions of people who tuned in and enjoyed Bad Bunny’s performance during this year’s Super Bowl. She discussed the controversial halftime performance on Monday’s episode of The View. But she wasn’t on the show on Tuesday.
At the top of Tuesday’s show, Whoopi Goldberg immediately addressed Alyssa Farah Griffin’s absence, and it’s what fans have been waiting for. “She’s at the hospital right now!” Whoopi Goldberg said. The audience and co-hosts Sara Haines, Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin broke out in cheers at the news that Alyssa Farah Griffin is in labor.
“And we are wishing her the best as she waits for her baby boy to arrive,” Whoopi Goldberg added. Alyssa Farah Griffin announced in October that she was pregnant with her and her husband, Justin Griffin’s, first child, a boy. She previously opened up about her struggle to conceive and multiple rounds of IVF.
The View host’s official due date isn’t for another week. “I’m due Feb. 19, but my doctor expects he’ll arrive slightly early, so it’s keeping me on my toes,” Alyssa Farah Griffin previously said. She praised the show for how it handled her pregnancy.
“I’ve been really lucky and I felt really, really supported by the show. Everyone’s used to the rhythm of it here. It’s old news!” The View already set rotating guest hosts to fill in during Alyssa Farah Griffin’s maternity leave. Starting on Tuesday, February 17, reality star Savannah Chrisley is the first guest co-host. Others include Amanda Carpenter, Sheryl Underwood, Whitney Cummings and former co-hosts Hasselbeck and Huntsman.
Excited To Be A ‘Boy Mom’
Alyssa Farah Griffin joked on Monday’s episode that Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance could put her into early labor. Little did she know!
In a previous interview with PEOPLE magazine, The View host opened up about having a boy. “I’m so excited to be a boy mom, even though I’ll be outnumbered at home because we have two male dogs. But wanted a boy first,” she said.
“I grew up with sisters, and I’ve always liked the idea of a big brother looking out for the younger siblings (because we both want two kids,)” Alyssa Farah Griffin said about her plans for another baby.
