Drake Turned Down Super Bowl Halftime Spot, Forgets Revenge
Super Bowl LX is about to kick off, complete with a few famous musical acts attached. However, it’s come out that one music star might have turned down a halftime spot: rapper and singer Aubrey “Drake” Graham. An inside source recently weighed in on the story. Interestingly, should this have happened, it would’ve created something of a follow-up to last year’s show.
The 2026 Super Bowl Will Take Place In Santa Clara, California
Super Bowl LX is set to take place on February 8, 2026. The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots will face off at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Many prominent musical acts are set to perform at the event. Charlie Puth will perform the national anthem with Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show. Green Day is also expected to perform during the pregame.

However, sources claim that another star was considered for the event: Drake. According to The U.S. Sun, it was reported last year that Bad Bunny wanted Drake to perform with him.
This made sense, as Drake famously teamed up with Bad Bunny for his 2018 hit “MIA.” This also would have allowed Drake to get “revenge” over last year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Reportedly, Kendrick Lamar, who performed at the game last year, unleashed his diss track “Not Like Us” during halftime. Released amid his feud with the Canadian rapper, the track led to a lawsuit from Drake, claiming the song accused him of being a sex offender.
Insiders Shared Just Why Drake Wouldn’t Want To Perform During Halftime
However, according to reports, Drake ultimately turned down the offer. Speaking with the outlet, an insider shared that the rapper “said no because he wants everyone to focus on his brother, Benito,” referring to Bad Bunny.
In other words, Drake didn’t want to distract from his friend as the main headliner. The source continued, “He wants Bad Bunny to enjoy the moment, to do his thing, and to not have his moment surrounded by noise about any kind of revenge on Kendrick.”

Meanwhile, Bad Bunny and Drake remain good friends. Most recently, they collaborated on “Gently” from Drake’s 2023 album For All the Dogs.
As the outlet noted, Drake wasn’t “scared” in regard to Lamar. However, he was worried that talk of the feud could distract audiences from Bad Bunny’s performance. The source continued, “He wants his friend to shine. And to pay tribute to the Latino world his way, without Drake being the center of attention.”
For his part, Bad Bunny recently teased, earlier this week, “I know that the world is gonna be happy this Sunday. They’re gonna have fun, they’re gonna dance and they’re gonna have a good time.”
