Rachel Anne Griffin Accurso, also known for her “Ms. Rachel” character, recently came under fire for liking a comment shared on social media. Since then, she has also issued a response, including a video where she explained the story. In addition, she’s also released a statement concerning the story. Ms. Rachel Has Become A YouTube Phenomenon

Accurso is known for creating and starring in the Ms. Rachel children’s series on YouTube. Originally known as Songs for Littles, this series focuses on children’s music, aiming to help infants and toddlers develop language skills.

Prior to starting her YouTube channel, Accurso worked as a music teacher at a public preschool in New York City. Since starting her channel in 2019, she has gone on to gain nearly 15 million subscribers, which is a huge feat. She has also become known for launching a toy line based around the series, including a Ms. Rachel doll.

However, Accurso recently came under fire after fans pointed to her liking an antisemitic comment on Instagram in a now-deleted post. She recently addressed the post she shared, which read, “Free Palestine, Free Sudan, Free Congo, Free Iran.”

A comment underneath the post read, “Free America from the Jews,” which she appeared to have liked. According to Accurso, one of her followers privately shared a screenshot of the post.

Ms. Rachel Also Released A Statement Discussing ‘Kindness’ & ‘Inclusion’

Accurso acknowledged the comment by posting a screenshot of a message that read, “I’m sure that’s an accident, so wanted to let you know.” Accurso shared, “Deleted – how horrible – oh wait, let me check – I did delete one like that … Ya I believe I deleted that earlier, right when I saw it! I hate antisemitism.”

Accurso also posted a video where she apologized for liking the comment. Sharing that she deleted the comment, she claimed the “accidentally” liked it, tearfully noting, “I’m a human who makes mistakes… I feel like we can’t be human anymore online.”

Following this, Accurso also shared a statement, which read, “Yesterday, I accidentally liked a hateful comment on my social media while trying to delete it. I have always been completely clear on this; I do not support language that targets or harms the Jewish community or any community.” Accurso continued, feeling that her personal brand focused on “kindness” and “inclusion.”

Ms. Rachel has become known for advocating for children in Gaza, a cause she has touched on in various forms. During the Glamour’s Women of the Year 2025 Awards, she wore a custom gown decorated with drawings from children in Gaza. She also featured a child from Gaza on her show.
