HGTV Star Teases Show’s Return Amid Cancellation Fears

HGTV has been keeping home and garden fans entertained for over thirty years. The network’s home renovation shows come and go, depending on viewership. Nearly a dozen home improvement shows were canceled in 2025 as the network looked to downsize.

Rehab Addict wasn’t among the confirmed cancellations. But viewers were worried about the future of the show since Season 9 ended in July 2025. The show premiered in 2010, featuring home renovations in Detroit, Michigan.

In an interview with TooFab last June, host Nicole Curtis revealed her thoughts on the show ending. She admitted she could “retire tomorrow and be okay.” However, she wanted to keep the show going. “The more we show old houses on TV, the better chance there is that someone will save an old house rather than tear it down,” she said.

She shared an update on the status of the show on social media this week. “It’s me NC-have no fears -you will have an airdate when I return. Yes, on HGTV, yes, it’s still Rehab Addict, yes, I KNOW I SAID FALL -but in my defense, I didn’t say Fall of 2025. (That’s the lawyer in me),” the Rehab Addict star wrote.

So, it sounds like the show will be back on HGTV soon.

Nicole Curtis Answers Burning Questions From Fans

One fan asked Nicole Curtis what inspires her. “What keeps you motivated to keep kicking a**?” The HGTV star responded, “We just lost a good friend to cancer, I’ve got another buddy battling stage 4, a girlfriend battling it -on top of so many we have lost —-I juice every second out of my day because it’s selfish not to.”

Another fan wanted to know if Nicole Curtis plans to take Rehab Addict to another state. The answer was a definite “no.” She replied, “I filmed in #wyoming for 3 years living out of a @bestwestern —I’m good with sticking to #detroit”

A third fan asked the HGTV star what the weirdest thing she found in a house she renovated. “A few “good” men that cost me a lot of money,” she answered. “Or gallons of urine from squatters and crack,” Nicole Curtis added.

It sounds like Rehab Addict will return to HGTV with new episodes soon. Stay tuned for an official return date.
