Influencer Reveals Own Heartbreaking Death at 39

News has come out that an online influencer recently announced their own death on social media. The social media figure was 39 at the time of passing. Over the years, the influencer had also become known for sharing their health journey with fans.

The Influencer Shared Her Stories With Around 100,000 Followers

Social media is a great place to get noticed and to spread the word about various causes. It can create a common bond and make others feel less alone. This influencer originally used the platform to promote their own professional organization business. However, it all changed when they were diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Since then, the influencer used their platform to share their journey with the fatal neurodegenerative illness, as well as stories about their family, with followers. At one point, they shared her story with around 100,000 Instagram followers.

Sara Bennett was an Ohio-based influencer and mother of two, who originally started her Instagram account to promote The Ananda Edit. However, after her ALS diagnosis in 2023, she transitioned her account to share her health journey with the world, even changing her handle to “The Ananda Pivot.”

Tragically, Bennett posthumously announced her own passing on social media. The social media post featured a black-and-white portrait of Sara reading, “In Loving Memory of Sara Elizabeth Bennett.

Wanting her followers to find some comfort at this time, Sara’s post shared, “I am not in pain, or tired. I can laugh, talk, and I can move.”

Bennett Also Previously Spoke About Her End Of Life Ceremony

“Reflecting in my last few months of my life, I am glad I didn’t go suddenly even WITH the suffering. I finished my list. Even if you don’t believe in anything, I am feeding the earth, and my tree. I loved this life and am grateful for the time.”

Over the years, Bennett also used the platform to share moments with her family with her followers. She and her husband, Rusty, share two sons, Lincoln and Williams. In lieu of flowers, followers were asked in a post to donate to Sara’s sons’ college funds, in addition to a meal service set up for the family.

In August 2025, Bennett opened up about having an “End of Life Ceremony.” At the time, she shared that this would allow her to hear how her loved ones would remember her before she passed on. As she noted at the time, “I ugly cried the whole time, but it was also beautiful.”

Since the news of her passing was shared, various followers have also shared their condolences. Some comments included:

  • “Thank you for all the light you had. All of your students now carry that light for you.”
  • “Sara was so many things. An incredible mom, wife, sister, aunt and I’m so lucky to say she was my friend. A master at connection, I just loved her from the moment I met her. Love you, Sara.”
  • “Sara was a Saint. My heart breaks for her fam and everyone that knew her.”
