‘The View’: Marjorie Taylor Greene Surprised With Claim About Trump Supporters
Marjorie Taylor Greene returned to The View after leaving Congress. She previously joined the show on Election Day in November. In her second appearance, the former Congresswoman made a surprising claim about Trump supporters that left the audience in shock. Keep reading to find out what she said.
Marjorie Taylor Greene Explains Why She Left Congress
Marjorie Taylor Greene began representing Georgia’s 14th District in the House of Representatives in 2021. She was reelected for a second and third term, representing the Northwest area of the state, including Summerville, Georgia.
In a shocking move, she announced in November that she was leaving Congress in January, months before the midterm elections. The decision came amid a public falling out with President Trump. Marjorie Taylor Greene had been one of his biggest supporters, but spoke out about the Epstein files, healthcare, and more hot-button issues.

President Trump denounced her in response, calling her a “traitor,” among other insults. His withdrawal of support all but ensured that MTG wouldn’t win reelection. She opened up to The View hosts about why she resigned from Congress.
“I think when it comes down to it, the president that I helped get elected, the party that I donated to and represented, and having the president turn on me and calling me a ‘traitor’ for standing with women who were raped as teenagers, and then having no one in the party stand up for me, that was a high bar,” she said.
Marjorie Taylor Greene also cited death threats against herself and her family as a reason why she abruptly left her position in Congress. “Political violence is real, and it’s so sad, and the politics is so extreme and divisive, and I just don’t want to be a part of that anymore,” she said.

Audience Surprised With Claim About Trump Supporters
Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared on The View on January 7. So, of course, the hosts brought up the January 6th riots that happened in 2020. Sunny Hostin asked MTG if she still believes that members of Antifa and Black Lives Matter were responsible for the riots, as she claimed when they happened.
She responded that no, she doesn’t think that anymore. But her reasoning for believing that in the first place sent shockwaves through the audience.
“No, no, no, I — no, that, I believed that, like, when it was happening, because I had never seen Trump supporters be violent before,” Marjorie Taylor Greene said. The Wrap reported that the comments caused audible laughter from the audience.
Marjorie Taylor Greene has disagreed with a lot of the Trump administration’s policies, but she continued to deny that President Trump was responsible for the riots that day. “No. He did not plan it, he did not order it,” she said.
Elsewhere in the interview, Marjorie Taylor Greene shut down the idea of joining the Democratic Party. However, she refused to say whether she still considers herself a Republican or not.
