‘The View’: When Will Alyssa Farah Griffin Be Gone?
The View host Alyssa Farah Griffin revealed exciting news in October. She’s pregnant with her first child. Her due date is rapidly approaching. Fans of the show wonder when she will be gone on maternity leave. Keep reading to find out what we know about the host’s upcoming absence.
Alyssa Farah Griffin Reveals Pregnancy
Alyssa Farah married Justin Griffin in a stunning ceremony in 2021. They moved from Manhattan, New York, to a suburb outside the city in 2024 amid hopes to grow their family. The View host went public that same year with her fertility struggles.

She revealed that she started IVF treatments to help her get pregnant. It took a while, but Alyssa Farah Griffin announced on the ABC talk show in October that she was finally pregnant. The announcement came after viewers began speculating why the host was wearing baggy clothes.
Alyssa Farah Griffin and her husband are expecting their first child, a boy, in February.
When Will Alyssa Farah Griffin Be Gone From The View?
Alyssa Farah Griffin sparked concern in December when she missed a few days of The View. However, she assured fans that her baby was fine and she was just sick. She’ll miss a lot more than just a few days once her baby comes. The co-host hasn’t shared many details about her plans for returning to work after her baby arrives.
Without any official word, fans started to discuss Alyssa Farah Griffin’s expected maternity leave. One asked this:
- “When is Alyssa due? Just wondering when her maternity leave starts”
During her announcement in October, The View host shared that the baby is due in February.

Another shared their thoughts as to when Alyssa would exit, and possibly return:
- “My guess is she’ll be gone February through the rest of the season— MAYBE she returns in like late June or July for one month before hiatus again”
Alyssa Farah Griffin isn’t the first to take maternity leave. Former host Meghan McCain, who recently welcomed her third child, took an extended leave back in 2020 after the birth of her first child. She was off the show for three months.

Replacement Already Named
Alyssa Farah Griffin is a regular host of The View. Several fans speculated that Ana Navarro would be on the show more to cover her co-host’s maternity leave. However, controversial reality star Savannah Chrisley recently revealed that she’s co-hosting the show for an entire week in February.
Fans are divided over the news, but it could indicate ABC’s plans for Alyssa Farah Griffin’s absence. The show could have weekly guest co-hosts, much like NBC did with the fourth hour of The Today Show after Hoda Kotb left. The NBC show recently announced a permanent replacement. Yet, all signs indicate that Alyssa Farah Griffin plans to return to The View eventually, so ABC is likely only looking at temporary replacements.
