Tyler Perry’s Shocking Assault Allegations By 2nd Victim, Details
Tyler Perry has recently become the center of a lawsuit. An actor who appeared in one of his films has claimed that he endured multiple incidents of assault from Perry over the years. The actor was also allegedly inspired to file the suit after learning that Perry was the subject of a similar one back in June.
Tyler Perry Is Facing A Lawsuit From An Actor Who Appeared In One Of His Madea Films
Perry is an actor and screenwriter. He is arguably best known for creating and performing as the character of Mabel “Madea” Simmons, as well as some of her relatives. The character originated with the stage show, I Can Do Bad All by Myself, in 1999 in Chicago. However, the character gained later prominence with the film Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
In 2012, Perry also struck an exclusive multi-year partnership with Oprah Winfrey and her namesake network, OWN. This also led to projects like The Haves and the Have Nots.

Recently, Perry has been sued for sexual battery by an actor who appeared in Boo! A Madea Halloween. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor accused Perry of multiple instances of assault over the years in his Los Angeles home.
The outlet identified the actor as Mario Rodriguez. Citing a lawsuit filed on Thursday in California state court, it was claimed that Rodriguez accused Perry of subjecting him to unwanted sexual advances. In one alleged occasion in 2018, Rodriguez claimed Perry “tightly hugged” him and “grabbed his penis.”
Another Complaint Was Filed Against Perry In June
Alex Spiro, a lawyer for Perry, denied the allegations. He also shared the following statement: “Having recently failed in another matter against Mr. Perry, the very same lawyer has now made yet another demand from more than a decade ago, which will also be a failed money grab.”
The complaint is the second filed against Perry, who has been accused of using his power to assault aspiring male actors. The outlet noted Derek Dixon, who appeared in Ruthless and The Oval, also sued Perry back in June. At the time, Perry was accused of pinning the actor against a wall and groping him.

The recent suit claims that Rodriguez was invited to Perry’s L.A. home after accepting a role in his film. After being invited to a theater room, Perry allegedly “put his hands on Mr. Rodriguez’s legs and began rubbing his inner thigh right next to his penis.”
Rodriguez reportedly excused himself, but Perry persisted. Once filming finished in 2016, Perry was alleged to have called Rodriguez about opportunities. At his home, the filmmaker allegedly confided in Rodriguez that he had been sexually molested as a child. The lawsuit claims he grabbed the actor’s “leg right along his penis.” Rodriguez reportedly resisted and left.
Perry reportedly contacted Rodriguez again in 2018 to discuss a role in The Oval. After leaving for the mogul’s home, Perry “tightly hugged” Rodriguez, according to the suit.
In the complaint, Jonathan Delshad, a lawyer for Rodriguez, wrote, “Mr. Perry reached into Mr. Rodriguez’s underwear and grabbed his penis. Mr. Perry was making sexual moaning noises and saying, ‘Stay here, stay here,’ while he pressed his body against Mr. Rodriguez and continued to grab his penis.” After leaving, the suit also claims Perry apologized and gave Rodriguez $5,000.
Mario Rodriguez Seeks At Least $77 Million In The Suit
Another incident was also reported in 2019, where Perry allegedly took Rodriguez’s hand and placed it on his penis. Allegedly, Rodriguez was once again given $5,000.
Rodriguez reportedly decided to sue after learning of Dixon’s claims. Reportedly, he “realized that Mr. Perry was continuing to use his power and influence to sexually assault hopeful actors and, with the voice of others, decided that it was time to tell his story, to obtain justice, and to finally stop Mr. Perry.” The suit, which was originally filed in California state court, has been since moved to federal court in Georgia.
