Goldberg is famous as an actress and as a comedian. However, in recent years, she’s become well-known for her role on The View.

Since 2007, Goldberg has served as a co-host and a moderator on the show. Since then, she has shared a number of opinions with her fellow co-hosts, some of which have even caused headlines.

One excerpt from Goldberg that has gained traction is a comment she made concerning health insurance on the show. In one episode, during a discussion, Goldberg talked about people paying into health insurance.

At the time, Goldberg discussed how healthcare was something people shouldn’t be able to “fool” with. She then asked, “If I don’t go to the hospital for a whole year, where is my money? Why don’t you give me the money back?”

This line has gained traction online, with various outlets further weighing in on the discussion. Back in November, for example, Sky News host Danica De Giorgio reacted to the clip in a post shared by Sky News Australia. USA Today bestseller M. A. Rothman also discussed Whoopi’s comments on X.

The discussion has also recently become a topic of discussion on social media. In one recent share, one fan asked if Whoopi knows “how insurance works?” As they explained, “I was blown away when she said if she doesn’t go to the doctor for a year then she should get money back? Like she said that with a straight face?”

The fan even questioned Whoopi’s place on the show, adding, “This level of ignorance is harmful for society. People watch her daily and think she knows stuff.”

In the comments, various fans also weighed in on the discussion. Some thought that Whoopi’s comments were being taken out of context, even if they didn’t necessarily agree with her. Others came to the co-host’s defense. Some comments included:
