‘The View’ Hosts Force Viewers To Shut Off Show, Demand Change
Viewers have been tuning into The View for decades. Through the years, they’ve watched various co-hosts and listened to all sorts of discussions on the show. Recently, however, fans have been taking to social media to voice their own views on something they want changed about the show.
Fans Have Listened To All Sorts Of Discussions, With Different Voices, On The View For Years
The View first premiered back in 1997. On the show, various co-hosts have discussed various current events and hot topic issues.
Over the years, fans have seen a number of different co-hosts at the table. Recently, the current lineup is made up of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

While fans often enjoy these discussions, some have recently taken to social media to share that there’s one thing they’d like to change about how these discussions play out. As one fan recently shared, they felt that the co-hosts were “talking over each other today.”
The fan continued, “I’m disappointed with today’s show. I was super interested in the topics and everyone’s individual opinions, but they were all talking over each other for the entire ‘hot topics’ segments!!! I had to shut it off. Bummer.”
A Few Fans Compared The Show Today To What It Was Like In The Early Seasons
However, not all fans agreed with this. As some noted, talking over each other helped these conversations feel more natural.
One fan commented, “I’d rather have natural dialogue, be it with some cross-talking, over the monotonous monologuing.” They also felt this was sort of a throwback to the show’s early seasons.

As this fan wrote, “The more free flowing, conversational dialogue is reminiscent of the Barbara era. I miss that.” However, not everyone agreed with this. As another fan wrote, “Cross-talking has been an issue since way back, as Barbara Walters commented on how much she hated it.”
Fans continued to discuss the issue further. Some thought it was better for the conversations to be more natural. Others agreed that conversations needed more structure to have a coherent message. A few even felt that both styles were more or less equal to each other. Some comments included:
- “The monologues/diatribes are just as annoying as everyone talking over each other. It’s rare that they have a natural conversational flow amongst the group these days.”
- “Not just today though. I notice this almost every day. And it’s very annoying. You can’t understand what any of them are saying.”
- “I know Joy is beloved, but she’s been awful lately with talking over everyone and not listening to what the other panelists are trying to say.”
- “It’s like the Today Show. Constant talking over one another.”
